EDITS: Requesting additions/changes to a memorial - ALWAYS use the "Edit" tab found in the upper right hand corner of the memorial. then select "Suggest a Correction" feature to submit information.
New "Automated" system for "Suggest A Correction/
Submit an Edit" process deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013
Go to your Contributor/Profile page. Look in the upper right corner. You will now see a tab called "Edits" - check there to see if any have been submitted to you. Then just review and accept.
A much easier way for doing updates to names / dates / places / plot #s / links.
You still will get e-mails to add info to bio section.
F A G GUIDELINES FOR TRANSFERS:
In fairness to those who may have closer ties to a memorial transfer requests will be honored for direct relatives within four generations only as set forth by FAG. This would be your:
PLEASE REQUEST TRANSFERS ABIDING BY F A G GUIDELINES LISTED ABOVE.
TRANSFERS: Please use the edit button on each memorial when requesting transfers. This will make it easier for me and provide me with all of the numbers I need to complete the transfer.
I WILL NOT DO TRANSFERS FROM A MESSAGE. I DON'T HAVE TIME TO LOOK UP EVERYTHING.

|Melissa||Thank you for your time & effort|
Thank you for your time & effort in posting a listing for Carrie Adelaide Harris Ross and a photo of her grave marker. I may not have found additional information about her without your listing. My cordial thanks. Melissa

|Nancy Ladd||Levi Nichols Strickland - 62783117|
The Seatons are one of my family lines and I have worked on them for 50-plus years. I may have been the one who gave you the parental links for Levi, because for years I believed his parents were Solomon Seaton and Mariah Trotter and I posted that on ancestry and many people copied it. But that was wrong information. As it turns out there were two Solomon Seatons and two Mariahs.
I initially thought that Levi was the son of Solomon Seaton (1806-1898) and his wife, Mariah Trotter (1812-1899), but I was wrong. Levi was the son of Solomon S. Seaton (born circa 1804 and died in 1875) and his wife, Mariah Berry (circa 1805- ). There are a lot of people on the web that refer to Mariah as Mariah Trotter Berry not realizing that Mariah Trotter and Mariah Berry are two different people.
Here is the 1850 census for the latter Solomon and his wife Maria Berry. The 1850 Federal Census for District 8, Tennessee (Hardin County) shows Solomon Seaton, a farmer, age 46, born in Tennessee; and her mother, Maria, age 45, born in Georgia. Also living in the household were Nancy's siblings, Maria A. Seaton, age 24, born in Tennessee; James H. Seaton, a farmer, age 22, born in Tennessee; William Andrew Seaton, a farmer, age 18, born in Tennessee; Levi Nichols Seaton, a farmer, age 17, born in Tennessee; Elizabeth Seaton, age 16, born in Tennessee; Francis Jane Seaton, age 15, born in Illinois; Nancy Seaton, age 12, born in Tennessee; Adeline L. Seaton, age 10, born in Tennessee; and Lucinda Seaton, age 7, born in Tennessee.
In 1850 Solomon Seaton and Mariah Trotter were living in Green, Missouri (Platte County). Solomon, age 44, and Mariah, age 38, had eight children: John Seaton, age 18; William Seaton, age 16; Elizabeth Seaton, age 15; Thomas F. Seaton, age 12; James Seaton, age 11; Benjamin, age 9; Margaret, age 7; and Isabelle, age 2.
Levi is not the son of the Solomon that I have posted on 18717300 or his wife that I posted on 18717298.
Please reconsider linking Levi to Solomon at 131317317 and Maria at 131317345 Thanks much.
Are you kin to the strickland of strickland town? Meriwether County?
|Tawnya Hale||Thank you|
Thank you so very much for the transfer of memorials for several of my family members. It means so much to me. You have raised my spirits for several reasons- first I am connected with my family again and second, I have had another contributor refuse even though I have provided extensive info. You reminded me that there are kind people in this world. Thank you. Tawnya
|Susan-HCBAR Historic Cemetery Preservation-SRP||Pleasant View Baptist|
Pleasant View Baptist in Horry County is the cemetery where the Infant Strickland photos are showing up. Please forgive me. I'm so used to sending edit requests rather than leaving a msg on a profile page...forgot to say the cemetery name.
|Susan-HCBAR Historic Cemetery Preservation-SRP||Infant Strickland|
Horry County has photographed stones in this entire cemetery. Some photos were needed and it looks like several infant Stricklands had photos added by either Chris Plaisance or me (Susan), Rich Ryals or Johnnytrees. Chris and John add photos for Rich and me, we don't mind giving up our photos just so they are offered to this site.
At any rate, there are a couple of infant stricklands now that stones indicate they are children of AG and his wife. I'm thinking they all belong to your A G Strickland. YOu may want to take a look at these new stone photos on these infants.
|Cindy Tucker Walton||Strickland Family|
I noticed that we are leaving virtual flowers on Strickland memorials. For example, Artemesia Strickland Guderian #23391918 is your 4th cousin and my 1st cousin 4x removed. I am wondering what other Strickland ancestors we have in common. Elizabeth Ann Strickland and William Harvey Tucker are my 3rd gg. Elizabeth's parents were Mathew Gillespie Strickland and Mary Adaline Yoakum. Mathew's parents were James Drayton Strickland and Mary Ann Gillespie. I am trying to find documentation that shows James's parents were Frederick Uriah Strickland and Elizabeth Mary Gibson. Let me know if you have anything you can share. Thanks in advance.
All the best,
Cindy Tucker Walton
|VyAZ Whitaker||Whitaker Line|
Hi Donna & Phil... I searched my tree and don't find a link, I have 7000 + names...we must be related further back... I can trace/document my Whitaker line back to my 6th Grt Grand Parents: John A. Whitaker Mem # 39150002 and Dinah (nee Lewis) ... they were Quakers in Chester County, PA... John lived to 99 years and had 2 wifes Dinah had 7 children and his 2nd wf, Ann Pyle, had 9 children; 14 of the total were boys... so there are A LOT of Whitaker's to descend from...maybe Phil came from one of the other 13,
I'm fm son William Whitaker 1755-1838 and Rachel Hoopes.
Thank you again for your help with Aunt Mary.
