RE: Coles in Evergreen Cem
As I recall, I couldn't be sure I found the stones on my prior search (2 years back?) because they were so gunked up, but I do think I took some pix in the same plot back then, maybe for you. If the stones were cleaned, it was long ago, but clearly they are better now than on my prior visit. Possibly some of the lichens died back rather than were cleaned off??? Hope you get a chance to visit.

RE: Coles in Evergreen Cem
Hi Dee,

You are very welcome. I thought I had found one of the stones before (a long time ago), but it was so encrusted with lichens that I wasn't even sure I had the right stone. Recently, I found the stones clean enough to recognize, though far from clean. If these are your grandparents, you probably would feel comfortable giving these stones a good cleaning if you get to the cemetery. They are otherwise in excellent condition.

RE: Broughtons in Evergreen Cemetery
Hi Dee,

It's been a while since I took the pictures, but if my memory serves me, those stones I didn't photograph would probably be perfectly readable were someone to clean off a lot of soft, mossy gunk. I felt the decision to do a heavy scraping should rest with a family member. Sorry I couldn't find more for you.

I photographed some Broughtons for you and I wanted to alert you that I also added pictures for other Broughtons if you are interested--Ira Jr., Lavina, Emeline and Albert Davis Broughton.
