2010, I am in the process of gathering the soldiers of the Civil War 85th ILLinois Infantry Regiment into virtual cemeteries.|
Please email me if you know the resting place of any soldier I have not yet found.
Origins of Companies
B---Fulton and Mason Co.
F---Tazewell and Woodford Co.
G---Fulton and Schuyler Co.
September 2013. I have started a virtual cemetery for Mason County IL WWI Veterans.
I generally try to add whatever additional bio I can find when I enter a memorial, military or otherwise. I use Ancestry.com , marriage and census records, and other similiar types of search sites.
Please contact me if I enter incorrect info or links.
I enjoy taking and posting photos.
Cemetery walking involves planning, time, gas, bees, flies, gnats, ticks, assorted other bugs, dogs, burrs, briars, weeds, tall grass, snakes, scrapes, cuts, mud, dirt, snow, rain, dust, wind, sun, rutted roads, hills and dales, getting lost, and BUCKETS of sweat.
I had to throw my lunch to a couple wild peacocks headed my way. Seems they have a fondness for egg salad.
I appreciate those folks who list their source when posting my photos to Ancestry.com :)
"They say such nice things about people at their funerals that it makes me sad that I'm going to miss mine by just a few days."

Thanks for the transfers. They are all in my tree and I will probably be asking for more. Some people won't transfer or add links. I love it when someone ask for my memorials to work on. Thanks for being a great graver. If I find any Civil war memorials I will transfer them back to you for your collection.

Thank you Debra for transferring this family to me. I wish that I had asked my grandmother about her family when I was little. But, who would have thought that I would become interested in genealogy. I am working on Levi now. Like his father he married several times. I think that Daisy went back to Illinois about the time that Levi married Katy Green in Georgia. Again, thank you. Shirley
|Barbara Stein||RE: Douglas|
Thank you for transferring them to me. I want to contact the Bushnell Cemetery to inquire about them.

Thank you, Debra!
You offered to transfer my Dreiers, I accepted your kind offer and I'm now going to see what I can add to their memorials. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it! We need more Yous on Find A Grave.

Thank you for making the transfer. And thanks too for the service information on Luther and David. I left it in the bio and gave you credit. I just added some personal information. Unfortunately somehow I lost the added military info on Luther. You noted he also served ... If you happen to still have that info would you let me know and I'll add it back in. Thanks again.
|Chad Kendell||RE: Pearl Slover|

Thanks for the offer. I'm not related or anything. Just found some info. It's up to you as to what you would like to do.
