|Bio and Links|
I recently read on another bio, "our ancestors can't tell us where they are buried, we have to find them." So true. I'm so thankful to all the volunteers that have registered the graves in their areas. My personal goal is to help register graves in my area that will hopefully help others locate the final resting places of their loved ones. |
Please remember that while FindAGrave is a great tool to use in genealogy research, the clear mission of FindAGrave is to register the graves. If you are new to FindAGrave, please click on the "Help with FindAGrave" menu selection and read the FAQ before starting.
Yellow daffodils I've placed on a memorial usually signifies a connection to me in some way.
I'm happy to transfer memorials within the FindAGrave guidelines found in the FAQ (and I'm somewhat flexible on that). To request a transfer, click the "Edit" tab on the top right of the memorial and then "Suggest a Correction" tab to send me a note requesting the transfer, indicate HOW you are related, and don't forget to provide your Member ID. I'll consider all requests, but you might want to consider building a Virtual Cemetery (see FAQ).
I'm also more than happy to provide links where the final disposition is known or add additional information. Again, click the "Edit" tab and "suggest a correction" to send this information.
A word about photos I've placed on memorials. I'll gladly give you permission to use my photos if you ask me, indicate that I have granted you permission, and provide a link to their FindAGrave memorial. I have found several of my photos posted in family trees on the web without my permission and without a source to FindAGrave. This is a copyright violation and poor research sourcing. Again, please just do the right thing and ask if you'd like to use anything I have posted on any of the FindAGrave memorials.
To all the volunteers that walk through long forgotten, overgrown, tick and snake infested cemeteries, taking photos of all gravestones (even broken or half buried ones), and create memorials, thank you. Those gravestones may disappear or become completely unreadable in the future. For your efforts in registering the graves, thank you for all you do.

With the dates being the same, I feel that the smaller marker was later replaced by the larger one (maybe by the children?), but the older one (erected by the husband?) was left in place. ?? Sure wish we knew all the stories. Hopefully someone will come forward with the true explanation.
Thank you for your hard work. The pictures you took and shared are all excellent.

Wondering if you can provide some additional information on this person.
I am looking for a James Sisemore born Abt. 1861, parents are John & Sarah (Neal) Sisemore. He was one of 15 children.
Also, you have a spouse listed, but in the photos on the memorial there is a Bethena listed. Is this an additional spouse, or is she not a spouse?
P.S. James is a 2nd cousin in my line.
As you noted, this headstone is very difficult to read. Your picture is excellent, and I believe this to be the third wife of W. A. McKinzie (all 3 were Mary's). He married a Mary Clarke who was born in 1849 and died in 1879. I've sent in some edit suggestions for your consideration. Thank you for your excellent work!

I deleted the message you pointed out and a few more that looked to be long. I restarted my comp. Then logged in on find a grave. Still no edit tab.
Thanks for your help Ron

Hi, I made the transfer for you today. If you can find out how to get my edit tab back, that would be great. When I first started having problems the edit tab was there some of the time. Now, for the last 2 months or so, it's never been there. This all started when find a grave had all that trouble back in June. If you want any transfers, just let me know. Thanks Ron

I just received your email. I can't make any correabctions because the edit tab is missing on my profile page. I have no way of seeing the requested corrections. If you want to send these thru email
then I will be glad to make them, or you may have a transfer. Ron
