Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been into genealogy for some 50 years and have never lost interest in helping myself and others find their roots. I find it a huge mystery game with many surprising discoveries.

TRANSFER REQUESTS: Please request if you are really a relative and will do something constructive with the memorial. If you are just a close friend, etc., the same goes for you. I will never refuse a request for valid reasons.

CORRECTIONS: additions, & family links when asked but no promises if you just send me an email instead of using the edit link. Use the Edit tab at the top right of memorial, then the Suggest A Correction option. Now we have the auto edit request and permission ability so that makes it easier. You can upload your pictures directly to the memorials, but PLEASE take pride on what you enter. Photos should be carefully composed and submitted with the highest resolution that FAG will accept.

I believe everyone prefers a typed Bio to be entered through the Bio button on the memorial page. If at all possible please transcribe the newspaper Bio and send it through the Edit button rather than attaching a photo of said Bio. I will gladly enter it in the proper location on the memorial.

Koughan's at LAN
They share a headstone names on opposite sides. I gave you an area shot from both sides as well to give you an idea of the area they are in. James

RE: Tommie Blanton
I think this is about my suggested edits for Edward J., Theodore, and Otto Ruegger?

It comes from family history backed up by records. :)

Theodore Emil Ruegger is my paternal grandfather's father. Edward J. was his older brother and Otto was his younger brother. I am providing links to 2 census records for you. The first is the 1870 Census which shows Edward and Sophia Ruegger with sons Edward, aged 4, and Theodore, aged 2. You will also see his daughters Ida and Anna (they are already linked to him), his mother Anna (Pleus), and his sister Emma (who married Valentine Mattern). We don't know where his mother is buried, but his sister Emma and his daughters Ida and Anna are both buried in Greenwood Cemetery. We just got back from a trip to visit the cemetery and take pictures.

In 1889 Edward and Sophia's son, Edward J. Ruegger, married Rose Disch. The second census I am attaching shows Edward, Rose, and their son Edward living in Poinsett County, Arkansas. Also living with them are Edward J's brothers, Theodore and Otto. Our family history says that they went all the way down to the MS Gulf Coast, then back up through Arkansas. They stopped when they found a large settlement of German living in Waldenburg. There the two brothers, Theodore and Otto, married two sisters, Matteye and Freda Rennicke. My grandfather, Forrest Edward Ruegger, was born in Waldenburg, but after his father died he was raised by his Uncle Otto and Aunty Mattye. Grandad's mother, Freda, moved to Texas after his father's death and remarried but my dad remembers her coming to visit when he was a boy and he has photos taken of the two of them together. I never met her, but I did meet my Great Aunt Mattye. She lived to be over a hundred and visited my grand parents when I was a
little girl.

Oswego Pioneer Cemetery (OPC)
Thank you for your extraordinary effort in maintaining so many memorials, many of which are for the 1200+ individuals in OPC. I manage OPC and would like to offer a more accurate list of burial information. I wonder if there is a way to make the updates since neither of us really has time to do that on a case by case basis. I will have my own website database up and running this summer with the correct information on it--recent gravestone photos, etc. Let me know how I can help.

RE: William McCoy
I submitted an edit (as I always do in these cases) to add "unmarked" and the plot number to the main page. But it usually takes time for the edits to get approved.

Mary McCoy FAG #75276930
This is concerning your request for a photo of Mary McCoy's headstone...From all appearances, there is an error in the City burial record, (not at all uncommon), showing this person died in 1893. There is a headstone at this plot address, OF-6-7-2, for a Mary F McCoy whose date of death is inscribed as being in 1887. There is already a headstone photo in place on her Find a Grave Memorial. There is another Mary, Mary A. McCoy, who is buried in this McCoy family plot, with a burial address of OF-6-7-7, but those are the only two Mary McCoy's in the entire Odd Fellows section. Am not sure who the person is who set the memorial up for this Mary who purportedly died in 1893, but there is nothing other than the (possibly) erroneous cemetery record to substantiate a third Mary McCoy. Thank you for allowing me to assist you.
