Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Diana (Sturgis) Greb. My husband, Richard, and I celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary April 4, 2014. We have 2 daughters and three grandsons.
I have a copy of The Jefferson Cemetery (1861-1990) published by the Willamette Valley Genealogical Society--I am taking the bio information from that book. If anyone wants a complete copy of the infomation, I will be happy to send it to you.
The family names I research are Sturgis, Sturges, Ritter, Spencer, Carnaby, Greb and Schwindt.
I had to add this sunset picture that I took at Maui on August 29, 2009--I love to take sunset pictures--I did NOT do anything to the picture!

You can see copies of the Linn County DCs on the Linn Genealogical Society web

NOTE--I have taken digital pictures of all the DCs that I have added to findagrave. I have taken the DCs (1903-1963) for the following counties--Benton, Crook, Curry, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Jefferson, Lake, Linn, Morrow, Sherman, Wallowa and Wheeler. If you want a DC for someone in those counties, let me know and I will look and see if I can find them for you.

I also give Find a Grave Staff full permission to transfer any of my Memorials to who ever wants them upon my death. Hopefully this will help eliminate What I call Dead Memorials.

Want me to transfer a memorial to you?
I would like to give away every non-related memorial to people who have more information to add, so if you would like me to transfer a memorial to you, don't hesitate to ask; in your request, please include the memorial number (or a link to it) and your own Find-a-Grave member number.

No problem. Looks fine to me.
I really like hot weather but it is playing hell on my electric bill. I just got my bill for last month and it is pretty near double what it usually is! I live in a trailer and have two air conditioners going all day and way into the night to keep this place for turning into an oven.

Thanks for the DC. I see that it says her BD is 1875 & the stone says 1880. I will go along with the stone right now but did add her maiden name. I see the informant wasn't her husband but another lady - maybe daughter?

RE: Oregon Burial Site Guide
I will try to contact Willamette Memorial Park to get the issue clarified, if possible. If she was moved within a few months of her burial, most likely there was not a gravestone placed for her at Sand Ridge. Perhaps her husband did not like the minimal maintenance at Sand Ridge, preferring more regular watering & mowing & trimming of the brush around the graves. ;-)

If you are going to offer them on RAGK, then I'm guessing that you wouldn't mind too much if I occasionally request one from you. I have made contact with a very kind lady, 'Lyn "Dona" Horine, who lives & works in Salem, who kindly trots town to the Archives for me whenever I need a DC (often several a week), but if you already have them in your hard drive, that would save her the time & expense of fetching them -- at least on the counties that you already have.

Is your Juno e-mail address still current? I thought they went out of business years ago.

RE: Oregon Burial Site Guide
I do not often get to Salem, but I have a sister who lives in West Salem and volunteers at the Keizer Senior Center, so she could probably pick one up for me on one of her many trips back and forth. I will ask her. Thanks!

Hmmmmm . . . .
If she died years before they opened WMP, that would indicate that either she was moved from Sand Ridge (on the west side of Peterson's Butte, about 4 miles from Lebanon, as the crow flies), or that the marker at WMP is just a cenotaph. Do you have a means of finding out which is the case?

Your DC photos have really been a blessing for a lot of genealogists, since they contain so many details which are relevant to genealogical research and most of us can't easily get to the Archives ourselves. Do you know if any counties other than Linn are available online anywhere?

Thanks again for all of your help!
