Bio and Links
Bio Photo My husband and I enjoy finding monuments for other people and am extremely grateful to the volunteers who have found my own people for me. We've been working on finding the little pioneer cemeteries in the area and putting their inhabitants online. Four of our memorial pages even helped to catch a gravestone thief. Cemeteries are extremely vulnerable to vandalism, theft, and the damage of time and weather. We appreciate all of the volunteers out there who are working so hard to document them before they are lost to history.

I'm not a numbers addict or collector, but I adhere to Findagrave policy:

◊Find A Grave's primary purpose is a graves registration website.

◊Find A Grave's secondary purpose is a memorialization/remembrance site.

◊Find A Grave's tertiary purpose is a genealogical resource.

Transfers are only made within the guidelines set up by Find A Grave. These guidelines are in place for a reason - whether one cares to accept them or not. I am not going to debate what the owner has deemed acceptable for his site with members who choose not to agree with the guidelines. "The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it." I am willing to consider transferring ownership to you if you have a close family member among my records. I rarely transfer relationships more distant than first cousin... just having someone "in my family tree" or "a relative" will not elicit a transfer.

If you want information added to a memorial, go to the memorial and use the "Edit" tab to send me the information-- including family links. I will add information to the memorial, I do not transfer just because someone wants to add links or other information. Bottom line: what are you planning on doing with the entry that I haven't already done or am unable to do?

On the other hand, if you upload family photos or in some other way add value to the memorial, I am much more willing to transfer. I will always transfer a memorial if you sponsor it.

I welcome all corrections to my own work. Some records were imported using OCR so have inevitable errors, both from the original records and from machine interpretation. I am only human and make mistakes, too, but will always make it priority to correct them.

RE: Samuel Leeper
I have never had problems with anyone on Find A Grave. I felt that you were insistent and wondered why. I don't have many memorials and I am just trying to put on immediate family members and family members of a few friends. I am not looking for a fight, especially at this time of the year. As I wrote earlier, I can't remove this memorial because it was transferred to me.

You have sent me info that I should remove a memorial because you apparently "beat me to it."
I didn't set it up. This is my husbands direct ancestor. This memorial was transferred to me, I can't remove it, only the original owner can remove it. The best thing to do, since you know all about it would be to merge the two.

RE: Mitchell J
I thought that policy stated that we could include cremations. On Mitchell's information, it states that he was cremated and his ashes were spread by his sister's and mother's (Frances D. Buck) graves in the old cemetery. A portion of his ashes were spread in Wyoming. I spread the ashes in the old Pioneer cemetery, and I am his niece.

If this is still not acceptable, please let me know and I will change it.

I have never been in Union cemetery, so I don't know how they could have identical stones in both cemeteries. I have been in Chestnut hill several times. I am not deleting the memorial, as I say I have never been in the other cemetery

RE: Mary Connell photo
I finally figured out how to repost the picture however before I do so please look at this link to the cemetery.... there is another Mary Connell with the same photo... not sure if you want 2 they have different middle names.

Once on the cemetery site click on Connell and you will see info from cemetery, then advise me about picture
