Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born and raised in Fresno, California of Alabama born parents, got into Genealogy in 1997 when I could not figure out what else to do with this computer on-line. I have built up quite a lot of pictures of old shots of the cemeteries of Clay County and Jefferson County Alabama. I have visited most of the cemeteries of my ancestors and my Wife's ancestors in Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. A Self-proclaimed Historian with a California Historical society (E Clampus Vitus), I am visiting places of historical interest and with my trusty Dimage , Vivitar and Olympus digital cameras have been taking pictures of headstones at whatever cemeteries we may visit and Historical Monuments in our travels in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Washington. In Fresno, I have added the 1919 biographies of early Fresno residents from the Paul E Vandor book titled "The History of Fresno County" to as many listings as I could. If you have something you would like to have added to a Bio, just drop me a line.

I follow FindaGrave rules and usually transfer close relatives within 30 days. You can complain to the FindaGrave administrators if you want, but you will likely find they too have little patience for impatient people.

RE: Rhode Island Letsons
I have her book The Southern Letsons, and I'm the author of The Northern Letsons, believe it or not! Eve passed her data on that branch of the family on to me in the early 90s, then I researched for another several years, then wrote the book in the late 90s. I've recently retired and am currentlly working on the Rhode Island Letson line...writing another book...Thanks so much for the info. Its nice to meet another of Eve's friends! (God rest her soul.)

RE: Rhode Island Letsons
That means you're related to George John Letson b. 1794 of whom Evelyn Lee Letson wrote in 1986. Thanks so much for your quick response. Have a very Merry Christmas. Sharleen

Rhode Island Letsons
Hi, Lester, I'm currently writing a genealogy on the Letsons descended from John Letson and Mary Smith Letson who were living in Rhode Island in the early 1700s. Are you related to them? I noticed your posting of Isaiah and Sophia's grave sites in Griffins Mills cemetery and was wondering if Sophia had two headstones.

Sharleen (mother is a Letson)

Maria Dolores Morales Rubio
The explanation of Lola's/Maria's location is in the picture's caption. To further complicate matters, I checked the U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007 & got a differnet birth month:
Maria Dolores Morales 22 AUGUST 1964 Mexicali, Mexico 31 Mar 1994

RE: Confusing Cemeteries
Thanks Lester. I've been "bugged" from the beginning with only that one inaccurate photo, especially since Fresno County #1 has been kept up. Finally decided to do something about it. : )

My grandmother was Lula May Coffey. Her father Thomas Jefferson Coffey married Sarah Letson, daughter of George John Letson. If you have more information about the Letson family I would appreciate it. My grandmother, Lula May Coffey married John Dawson Nelson, born April 30, 1871.
My father's name was John Dawson Nelson and my name is John Dawson Nelson, Jr. The Coffey family and Nelson family resided in Moulton, AL.
