Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is William Anthony Watkins, I go by Anthony, I live in Florence, Alabama, since I have been a member I have enjoyed every minute of it. I look forward to my off days so I can go graving. I enjoy being able to help people find their relatives tombstones and I can't wait to get home and check my e-mail to see if I have some new cemetery to visit. My wife has let me know several times that I am addicted to graving and my computer. If you send me some names near me I will do my best to photo the stone and get it sent to you as soon as Possible.

Thank you for your efforts; they are very much appreciated. I would like to offer a correction and additional information re: my grandfather, Rufus Wesley Sims. Correction: he died in Florence, Lauderdale County, AL, not Winston County. Additions: my grandmother Leona Hyde Sims was born in 1882; my grandfather also had a full brother, William. (As far as I know Rufus and William were the only children born to John and Emma Sims.)

RE: Casey Cemetery
From Florence -- go north on Al 157, go .4 miles to where road curves & stop. There is a farm road on the right, follow this road, walking west & staying as close as you can to the hedge row for 785 yards. When you reach the corner of a large field on your right, and woods in front you turn right and follow the edge of the field and the woods. There is a large oak tree about where you should go into the woods. The cemetery is not listed on the 1987 Lauderdale County Hwy map. The legal description is Sec 7, T2S, R11W.
This is the directions surveyed by Orlan Irons in 1990.
Note: This cemetery is on privately owned property & I have no clue who owns it. Mr Irons took me down there close to 10 years ago & he knew the people there. I don't know that I would actually remember how to get there from the directions above. I do remember 2 large farms. The road took a very sharp left curve. We parked in the curve & then walked a straight line between the 2 properties up to the back border of the property on the right. We took a right at the shrub line & walked for a short distance - then took a left into the shrubs & lots of thorn bushes.
I wish I could give you better directions & do wish you good luck in finding the cemetery. I wish we had a way to get this cemetery cleaned up & had someone take interest in preserving it.
