You had asked some time ago for a transfer of John H. Hall (preacher) and no family has asked for it yet so sending him to you to care for. Sorry I took so long in answering.

In the Peter H. Shaver Find A Grave Mem, there is a quote from L. Dalton's hist. p.342. It suggests that "John, who was killed at the Battle of Shiloh..." It looks like it was Robert A. Shaver who should be the son. Ref. Find A Grave for the statement and picture of the centotaph for RAS. RAS is the son of John and Nancy Cook Shaver and the ancestor of Dr. Tommy Shaver, Bible prof. of ACU. What a great heritage.

You are welcome. Thanks for putting the Grave site on your request. I have placed a Civil Rights investigation on the cemetery for their lack of cooperation.
|Richard Dodge||John Dunlavy's wife|
My research has resulted in conflicting information for John Dunlavy's wife. I agree that John & Richard McNemar were brtohers-in-law. My research indicates that they married daughters of John Luckey. Richard married Jane (Jennie) Luckey and John married Keziah Luckey - I know Richard was married in Cane Ridge, KY c1793.
I speculate that Cassie could be nickname for Keziah. My question is, do you know for sure that Cassie was Richard McNemar's sister?
Thank you for your post.

Thank you so much for the additional information you provided. Now she is linked to her parents, along with some of her siblings, and to her husband.

Thank you for calling my attention to this error. Both photos have been removed. Sorry for the error.
|R. L. Vaughn||Rufus Columbus Burleson|
I noticed that the Rufus C. Burleson bio on his memorial is somewhat inexact and confusing. Here is what is there now:
"Helped in the growth of Baylor University in Waco, Tx. Served as its 2nd president from 1851-1861. He resigned as a result of disagreement between the trustees. During his tenure he started the first program which would lead to a degree. The first degree was granted in 1854."
Burleson did become the 2nd president of Baylor in 1851, but while it was in Independence, Texas. He left there in 1861 to become the president of Waco University in Waco, Texas. The two schools merged as Baylor University in Waco in 1886, and Burleson then served as president of the unified Baylor University from 1886-1897.
Some of this information can be found on the Baylor web site and elswhere.
Hope this helps. Thanks. Have a nice day.
