Bio Photo Recent trip to Hunter Cemetery, Maury Co. Mt. Pleasant, Tn. Two large trees have fallen and one missed the McGee memorial by about 2ft. Another tree fell and has destroyed the ts of Richard Stockard and about 6 others around it.
Wayne Austin and I are trying to get volunteers to go there and moved the trees and repair the stones that are damaged/destroyed. Any suggestion on how to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated. A photo on the memorial of Richard Stockard will show part of the damage.

Born and raised in Lewis and Maury County, Tennessee. Member of the National Society of Children of the American Revolutionary War.

Maury Co., Tn has many historical cemeteries. Many Rev. War soldiers are buried in Maury Co./Lewis Co. Tn., also many Civil War Generals, War of 1812, and their soldiers.

Cemetery preservation is very important to me and I try to list from actual cemetery visits and various book listings. I have been working with Wayne Austin for the last 10 years as a volunteer contributor for his project.
Please, e-mail me with any corrections or additional information that needs to be posted at any Maury County Cemetery where you see my name via the edit option on the memorial.

If I have posted a close relative of yours let me know and I will transfer. Please use the edit option on the memorial for updates, corrections and questions, my responce will be much faster, I don't have to look up the memorial by name that way.

Ambrose Hadley
Hi Mary,

I was very moved at finding my great-great grandfather's resting place. You listed him as Ambrose Haley, the only grave in the Haley Cemetery near Santa Fe, TN. I believe his name is Ambrose Hadley, rather than Haley, and that the cemetery was listed as Hadley in "They Passed This Way".

Thank you for posting this memorial. I've been looking for his grave for a while!!

Mariah Josephine Trobaugh
Her maiden name was
Mariah Josephine GEORGE.
She married David Age Trobaugh who was born 13 Dec 1828 Lauderdale Co AL, died 18 July 1919, Dale, Hamilton Co., IL. All of the Lemay's living in
Lawrence Co AL relocated to Hamilton Co IL after
reports that their home was going to be burned
before morning. They had no sympathy for the deaths of black's. They walked most of the way and arrived with painful feet and no shoes left.
Some of the women knitted as they walked. The
Trobaugh's and Lemay's had intermarried several
times during their lives also with Essary's. My 2nd great grandfather, William F. Lemay married second Ruth Essary Trough after his first wife, Anna died.
The Lemay's returned years later and were buried
in New Garden Cemetery, Limestone Co AL. There
may be Trobaugh's there also. Virginia L. Keefer,
daughter of Lena Ola Lemay.

Susan S "Sue" White Dabney
The Find A Grave site for Susan S "Sue" White Dabney lists her parents as
Father : Courtney Saint Ledger White (also buried in Rose Hill)
Mother : Nancy Pickard (buried with St. Ledger White)

According to the Tennessee Death Record, her parents were
Father James M White
Mother Share [Sarah] Johnson

This is confirmed by the 1850 and 1860 censuses which list her with the other children of James and Sarah. St Ledger was also a son of James and Sarah, so he was Susan's older brother, not her father.
