I've designated myself as the family genealogist and I joined FindAGrave.com after visiting my grandmother's grave in Covington, LA. Because I have access to Ancestry.com, I try to get information from there to add to the pages I create. |
If possible, I let other people on this website know of any additions or corrections I find to the profiles that they create. I hope I do not offend anyone, I'm just trying to get the correct and up-to-date info available for those looking for their loved ones (you know ... the ones we work for).
Unfortunately, I don't have as much free time as I would like to go around to the cemeteries around here; I am more than happy to avoid cemeteries others want to "claim" as theirs - there's more than enough to go around.
Any pictures and information I upload can be used by anyone on their own genealogy pages. Email me if you find any corrections on my stuff. I try to get the right information but occasionally there are people of the same names at the same place during similar times.
If I add a memorial page and you're a relative and want to manage that page, let me know, I will be happy to transfer the management to you.

Thank you for double checking on my memorials. Also thank you for all the additions to my memorials. It takes a village.... Thank you for being in my village.
Hi Ron, thanks so much for allowing me to maintain William Tate's memorial, he will be well cared for and honored. Warmly, Helen

You have been so gracious in the handling of the duplication of memorials Ron. Would you just allow me to assume management of the one you created and then mine can be deleted? That way, you are still credited for the work you put into William's memorial. Plus, I rather prefer the way you have his historical details summed up (mine are just copied & pasted from FamilySearch which makes them more jumbled and difficult to read). Just let me know. Warmly, Helen

Thanks for pointing out that I made a duplicate memorial for William Arthur Tate who is noted in Wilkins Cemetery, Humphreys County. It was certainly not my intention as I am usually so vigilant in checking first to see if there is already a memorial. What happened was that I had him in another cemetery and another contributor was able to steer me in the right direction, thus he was moved to Wilkins in my database. William is indeed in my family tree, through marriage. His daughter, Lois and her husband will always be remembered so fondly when we gather for family events as they were two of the sweetest people anyone could ever know. You did a great job in creating the memorial that you have. As long as his wife and children are linked to him, it does not matter which one of us maintains his information. Warmly, Helen

Thanks Ron for the heads up.

Ron ,I have been putting pictures in edit. Not sure where it says person and grave.

Like you, I have not received any emails about new requests in our area. I have been so busy with Rosemount that I had not noticed it until you mentioned it. I did not receive an email about Frank Blue, but I had found the request on the Rosemount site. I have photographed about 85 percent of the cemetery, but I have not found him. I will continue to look for him.

I added your information to my memorial. AND - I finally moved my memorials from the other Johnson Chapel as you requested. Sorry to be so long doing that.
