Remember, I will still be here
As long as you hold me in your memory
Remember me.
~~Josh Groban~~

Our findagrave activity stemmed from my love of genealogy, photography and old gravestones, strengthened when we saw the damage one year of weather does to an older stone that cannot stand the test of time well. We believe everyone deserves to be remembered, beyond plain, cold statistics, and document as much as we are able, especially as we travel. This is a wondrous site where the upcoming generations can easily find their history and ancestors. Even after we are gone, our work will remain. Thank you, Findagrave.

We are all simply the guardians of those we have kindly added until their family comes along. I am eager to transfer anyone who is not family to family. Demands will be ignored, "please" is simply common courtesy. People with kind, sincere words make my day.

I take my heritage, 'graving' and documentation very seriously and most respectfully. Accuracy is of the most utmost importance to me, not who 'owns' a memorial. If I have made an error, please, please, let me know, politely. Cooperation is the entire point of this site. I now understand why people leave Findagrave. If you are rude, I will ignore you.

** I spend over half my time on Findagrave JUST sending edits to admin for duplicates, not documenting cemeteries any more. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE double check before you add a historical person from the 1600's or back. Nine times out of ten, they have already been added.

** PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the FAQ concerning BURIALS UNKNOWN. They are to be used for RECENT deaths only, not your 176th great grandfather whose burial is 'not located yet.'

**If you will not honor an update sent in by another volunteer, you are doing the memorial, AND the hard work of the volunteers a real injustice, not to mention the Findagrave admins who now have to do YOUR WORK. If you don't want to do updates, give your memorials to someone who will, PLEASE.

**Do not use my photos without permission, and ask BEFORE you use them. Simple, reasonable. And, if your pictures are crooked, poor quality, out of focus, too dark to read, taken at night, shadowed, or the stone is covered in dirt or weeds, or your finger was in front of the lens, I will add my photo on the memorial. Sorry. Please have the respect to post only decent, well thought out photos.

**USE THE MEMORIAL EDIT/SUGGESTION OPTION ON THE MEMORIAL you want updated for updates requests, transfer requests, general inquiries ANY memorial. I will IGNORE AND DELETE suggestions, requests and updates and inquiries left HERE or in EMAIL, as they are REPEATEDLY, DESPITE THIS stupidly bold NOTICE.

Thank you for the transfer. That was unexpected. I thought perhaps you were also a relative and might be interested in her ancestors as well. Cheerio!

RE: Hepsibeth Bean 83499675
Hepsibeth was the fourth great-grand-daughter of John MacBayne, who was brought to America aboard a prison ship, having been captured in 1650, by Oliver Cromwell at the Battle of Worcester, in Scotland. You can find the story here: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/MacBayne-2

He was my eighth great-grand-father, so yes Hepsibeth and I are fifth cousins four times removed

RE: S. A. Riddle
It's okay, I understand, I am still looking for some of my photos that are in this computer somewhere and also have lost photos in the good ol days when computer crashed. I will keep trying, I don't like knowing so little about someone. Thank you anyway, I appreciate your response. Eileen

S. A. Riddle
Hi Anne, You added a photo for S. A. Riddle, memorial 7827249 that I inherited in Roberts Ferry Cemetery. Do you have any notes about who this person (I think baby or young child from the looks of the grave), is buried near? I have found a Riddle family in Waterford but that isn't enough, of course to link them. Any little tidbit may help, thanks, Eileen

Thank you for the additional information. I have added it to her memorial. Before doing so, I researched the Tuolonme Pioneers (standard procedure for me to seek to confirm new info I'm given) What a fascinating story. That must have been an arduous trip and I have new respect for them.

RE: A Suggestion
Anne, thanks for a clarification on the use of de, le, etc. in last names. I will begin putting these qualifiers in the middle name field as suggested. Thanks again, Sherman
