|I have a passion for anything old; antiques, histories of old communities, and especially old cemeteries. The more I photograph and transcribe them, mainly in Nevada County, California, the more I learn about the people. That is what is most fascinating to me. I have a Bachelors Degree in History and hope to continue to photograph the old headstones for many years to come. I believe in preserving the old cemeteries and documenting the markers left by old pioneers.|

Thanks so much for taking the time to post the photo of my grandfather, Charley C. Berry with his father, Richard. I do not have a copy of this picture, but feel like I remember seeing one very close to this when I was a little child.
Am glad to know that you are a distant cousin! Thanks again for sharing. It really brightened my day with happy memories.

Hi. Was your Bertha Luehr married to Rev. Henry Luehr?

Hello. Please remove the photos you added to the memorial for Bertha Luehr. It is not the same person. Thanks.

Kat B, I see that you have posted some pics of the Hasenzahl family. I was hoping you could share any other photos or information that you have about them with me.

Your welcome. I calculated his birth date based on his age and death date to come up with Sept 8,1850 which I sent via Edit tab. Thank you for all your work on findagrave. To bad the Article didn't give family names.
|Michael Burd||Lawrence John Smith|
Thanks for what you do on FindaGrave! In your write-up on Lawrence, buried in Nevada City, you note: "A family member provided the death and birth dates and other information for Lawrence Smith."
He was my grandmother's first cousin; I wonder if you'd be willing to put me in touch with the family member, as I'd like to connect...

Somebody put "Fyfe" as Bessie's maiden name. Her correct maiden name is "Bench".
Bessie is my great aunt, her husband, Edd Prater was my grandfather's brother.
I can send you their marriage record for proof.

Thank you for helping get the memorials for this cemetery updated. I am trying to link all the ones you send me indicating they are side-by-side. So far, I have been able to either find them in census or to find their marriage certificates and have updated the memorials accordingly.
"Note: It is not confirmed yet, but most likely Peter and Jane (Shy) Shelley are buried in the Davis family cemetery. Please notify me if you can confirm."
No, they are not (I'm related to everyone there: from my daughter to my great, great grandparents - where I will be buried, too). Find-A-Grave shows that that Peter & Jane both died in Kentucky.
Their son Anderson Campbell Shelley is buried in the Roberts-Shelley-Hardin Cemetery (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GScid=2361867).
Two of their grandchildren (children of Anderson Campbell Shelley & Mary Russell Shelley nee Shugart) ARE in the Davis Family Cemetery: Thomas Hardin Shelley & Sarah Jane Shelley.
Eli Martin Shelley is in Round Mountain; Peter Marion Shelley is in Marblefalls.
From Blanco County Families For 100 Years by John Stribling Moursund, page 385: "4. Mary Belle Shelley, born March 27, 1852, died February 8 1950, married John Ferrel, born November 30, 1851, died September 25, 1900, moved to Colorado."
(I know of errors in the book; I wonder if it is actually Farrell? I found a letter in the old Blowout Post Office [of which 'Aunt Sadie' was the postmistress until it closed in 1918] from the ghost town "Hastings Colo May 22nd 93" that was signed "your brother John Farrell".)
Thanks for doing this!
