If anyone has anything to add to a memorial I've made PLEASE let me know and I will be glad to add the information! I Love to link their parents to each memorial or have their obituary to add.|
I'm interested about who my ancestors were and how they may have influenced who I am today. I am also researching my husbands ancestors and am learning as much as I can to pass on to our daughter. It's also fascinating to learn about the many different church backgrounds they all have had. Still searching in PA!!
I found this through a friend:
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
Walter Butler Palmer

You did a great job tracking that info down. However, I believe I'd leave the date shown on the stone as the "actual" date because everyone who sees it would probably do an "edit". I would also post the info that you found in his bio thus letting everyone who reads it know that there were numerous other dates involved in this man's history. Thanks for your excellent detective work, Laura!
My last message...not sure why the word Cemetery got in that message. Sorry.

Is her daughter Ruth Jury Pratt? If so, I would like Cemetery to ask her a question about Emma E. Morgan Jury. I believe that would be her grandmother. I believe Ruth would be my third cousin:

|Debbe Keagy Fry||Keagy Cemetery|
Thanks for the directions you gave to me to help me locate the Keagy cemetery. I also found the house that belonged to Joseph and Isabella Keagy, my great-great grandparents. That visit this summer has started me on a long journey to find both my and my husbands' relatives.

Thank you for your help and kind words Laura! I was able to shortly stop by a couple cemeteries in Adams county a couple weeks ago while on a brief trip visiting family. Nice to see these places in person, and a little odd but very nice being able to recognize many of the stones I have only ever seen pictures of. I will send over a copy of Agnes Aumen's obituary too as soon as I am able. Matt

|Danielle Hyser||RE: Thank you|
I'm the same way I've been just as obsessed trying to piece together this crazy family tree! That's so cool to find another person coming from Ervin's line.
Paul and Anna had Richard Senior Hyser, Carrie Hyser (Died as an infant 1927-1928), David Hyser, Clarence Hyser, Irving Hyser, Ruth Hyser.
All of them are now deceased EXCEPT for Clarence who is still living. Clarence may be living in Carlisle or Mechanicsburg.
Paul Ervin Jr is in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover and all the rest of them should be in Hanover as well because almost all of them lived and died in Hanover. They may also be in TaneyTown, Maryland there's a few that lived out there at one point.
Richard Senior Hyser was not buried he was cremated and scattered in West Virginia when he passed in 2005! Probably the only person not to be buried in Hanover or Perry County from our side haha.
