Bio and Links
Bio Photo My particular areas of interest are Berks, Montgomery, Schuylkill, Chester, Montour and Lehigh Counties in Pennsylvania.

Many frivolous contributors are arbitrarily adding very old pioneer family members to cemeteries with no record source. This may be encouraged by contributors who will not link to memorials listed as unknown cemetery. This practice is very deceiving for serious researchers who will be misguided in their research for accurate results. It also is misleading for those requesting gravesite photos.

Please consider that the information given in memorials is not always provided by the memorial manager but also by others through edit requests
which cannot always be verified. These edit requests could also be added without the review of the memorial manager if not acknowledged in a given time period.

Surnames suggested as middle names will not be added without some official record such as a obituary/death/burial/birth record/tombstone or individual's signature.

My thanks and devotion to you who are courteous, polite and appreciative. Those who are rude, demanding and condescending, are not in the best interests of findagrave principles.

My Patriots of the Revolution include:
George Herbst 1712, George Dry 1725, Johannes Koch 1725, Daniel Guldin 1735, Johann Christian Scheidt 1736, Michael DeLong 1739, Bernhard Eitel 1745, Michael Krebs 1744, Henrich Knauss 1746, John De Turck 1747, Marmaduke Von Buskirk 1750, John Grant 1754, Sebastian Koch 1757. My Loyalist who fought for the British is Christian Flicker.

Generally, transfers of memorials unrelated to my family or friends will only be made for your direct ancestors, therefore excluding, cousin, aunts, uncles, etc. Be aware that transferred memorials can be deleted by the transferee by application to findagrave.

Hi Neil:
This gravestone is the correct one, and represents one of the worst examples we've ever seen of the butchering of a solder's name by the folks emplacing the government gravestones.
See:

Scroll down to pages 116 and then 332.
With kindest regards,

Neil, thank you so much for adding the photo to the cemetery page. I was surprised and thrilled to see it!

I have photos from 1980 that a relative took when they traveled back to OH and PA. Very overgrown with weeds, and I guess a little poison ivy.

Neil,

I made an update to this "Bio". Let me know when the move is made so I can delete my entry. It was interesting that the church obtained the stone from the V.A. Wonder what info they had then but don't have now???

Nine #1 Burial Ground
Neil,
I have made the changes you requested. You have done an incredible job on find a grave--thank you. Two suggestions, 1) Add a map to the cemetery 2 )several years ago I added Nine #1 and Nine #2 to Find a Grave and they were eliminated a few weeks later. I suggest you give credit to the local cemetery preservation group that did the work so any future questions can be avoided.

Request for transfer of memorial
Hello Neil,

Thank you for all of your work and dedication in logging this valuable source of local and family history.

I have recently come across a memorial for Johanna Christian Benz that you created (Find A Grave Memorial# 90074398). John Benz is my great, great, great grandfather. John was born in Baden, Germany. His wife, Anna Elizabeth, was born in Prussia. The couple lived in Philadelphia before relocating to Reading, PA before the American Civil War. They had a total of four sons. Rudolph Benz - their third son (and my great, great grandfather - enlisted in the 19th U.S. Infantry, Company G in Reading in 1862).

I am requesting that you transfer this memorial to my care. I would like to add additional details for both individuals. Please let me know if you need any further verification that these individuals are direct relatives.

Thank you,

floppyslater
