If anyone has anything to add to a memorial I've made PLEASE let me know and I will be glad to add the information! I Love to link their parents to each memorial or have their obituary to add.|
I'm interested about who my ancestors were and how they may have influenced who I am today. I am also researching my husbands ancestors and am learning as much as I can to pass on to our daughter. It's also fascinating to learn about the many different church backgrounds they all have had. Still searching in PA!!
I found this through a friend:
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

I don't have death or burial info for her husband John. I looked in my notes and didn't find any info there either.

Thank you for the photos of the Smith families in St. Joseph cemetery in Hanover! Will let you know if I find anything yet with the Elines.

I saw that you had created the memorial for Mary Jane Mellinger Frey Hershey who would have been my husband's great grandmother. Like you I am researching my husband's family tree as well as my own to pass on to my son. If you would be interested in exchanging information about the Hersheys and related branches, let me know and I'll be glad to send you my email address.

You're welcome. do you want me to transfer Joseph's parent if you have more to add?
I could find no baptism records at Conewago for the Eline children. Do you know about what year George and Anna Maria were married? Ran across an 1817 marriage for Joannes Eline and Catarina Hilt.

No problem, that is easy to happen
Have a dry week Audrey
|M. Aumen||RE: Ignatius Adams|
"January 18, 1853 Ignatius Adams, having been provided for (i.e. provided with the sacraments) and buried on the 19th of the same month of the age of 86 years."
Found the entry for George Eline: "1852 Octobr. 31. Georgius Eline sacr. munit. & sepult. 2. Novbr aetatis circ. 60. an." Conewago Chapel Burial Register page 222) Translation: "October 31, 1852 George Eline having been fortified by the sacraments and buried November 2, 1852, of an age around 60 years."
From her memorial I see that Ann Maria had her last child in 1842. The records are a little sparse from 1842-1852, and from 1855-1887 the burial records are largely incomplete, but among the existing entries I could find no Elines. Sorry about that. But I will keep my eyes open on the chance that I missed it.
I will go through the baptismal and marriage records for their family at a later time. Please remind me if that happens to stretch into forever, as I have a couple tests this week. If there is anything else I can do let me know, I really enjoy this kind of research!

I'm glad you're happy to find the photos - that's what I hope for when I post them at findagrave.
I buy photos from antique shops and from other eBayers. These photos came from an eBayer in Pennsylvania in 2008. Other photos from that group previously sold had surnames Ward, Birk, Keefer, Wagner and Wineka. Let me know if you'd like to see any of those.
Here's a link to photos from that group that haven't sold yet
Thank you for stopping at our son's site, James Henry "Tank" Dowling and leaving a token. Please continue to pray for our family as we try to heal. We will see James again in God's time. God bless, Saundra & Alton Dowling
