Please take a few minutes to read the site's Frequently Asked Questions (sometimes referred to as Help With Find A Grave). In addition to being the site rules, they also contain information on features you may not be familiar with. They have been updated numerous times since the Ancestry.com takeover, the most recent being January 15th.|
Any edits sent need to utilize the appropriate choice(s) on the Edit tab. The sixth option is for edits that don't fit anywhere else. These are usually done within a few days. Edits posted to my wall will be deleted and will any nasty posts. All declined new-style edits are rechecked and submitted to administrators immediately. Old style edits (usually duplicate messages) are forwarded after the 30 day allowance or immediately following a refusal.
Deception gets you nothing. Moving a 'burial unknown' into a cemetery then asking the creator of the correct one to remove their 'duplicate' is deception. Back-dating a memorial is a deception. If I accidently make a duplicate, I am willing to remove it, but if the situation is suspicious, I will ask administrators to review the 'previous' one and merge or delete as they deem appropriate.
Sending out a huge thanks to J. R. Sents for all you do!
Also sending out a HUGE thanks to everyone doing their edits! So many push their management responsibilities off on admins. Thanks for taking care of your own memorials. If anyone has memorials they don't want to manage, please transfer then to Find A Grave so they can be tended properly.
Several of us have adopted counties and are working to clean them up. Thanks to all those who go the extra mile knowing the negativity they will likely encounter along the way!

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Nothing has happened.
Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you,
And the old life that we lived so fondly together
Is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other,
That we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way
Which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes
That we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
That it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort,
Without the ghost of a shadow upon it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind
Because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
Somewhere very near, just round the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be
As it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting
When we meet again!
-Henry Scott Holland (1847-1918)

Thank you so very much for taking the time to photograph my great uncle's gravestone. I appreciate the time and effort put forth to do this. God Bless you! Billie Sorrels

You're very welcome.

Yes it is a sad story. I was at the cemetery the day of the funeral. They had services and burial for another baby at the same time and they are laid to rest side by side. Bless the folks at "He Knows Your Name" for seeing these angels are not forgotten.

I heard back from Lloyd. He says David's ashes were scattered in the woods, and are not buried at Sidener. Could you ask FindaGrave to label label your memorial a cenotaph and put in a link to the other memorial? I can send you the text to add the link, if you haven't done that before. Thanks!

You were right; there was a space!

They are not upside down. I think it is a bug in Facebook. I look at it and they are right side up.
It is not upside down.

Thanks Gone Gravin. You're a champ.
