I cannot remember a time when I was not involved in family history. My mother and my paternal grandmother both spent a significant amount of time and energy researching their ancestry, and I grew up helping them. Both left records and files of their life's work with the responsibility to carry on. |
I suppose I have been actively involved for myself since 2000, continuing where my mother left off when she passed. In 1992, my husband and I helped to publish (for extended-family use) my mother's research under her direction – a book entitled "Blalock Beginnings" covering my maternal lines and centering on the southwest part of Mississippi but including the Plemmons line which led to Tennessee and North Carolina. Parts of this publication are available online with more soon to follow.
This site has been very helpful in linking generations of my ancestors from the Southern States (where my mother was born and spent her youth) to family in the West (where she married and spent most of her life). More than a researcher, I see my role as a bridge builder providing access to the records collected of the past through the efforts of many, to those who will come after seeking for answers.

I linked Harley to his parents. I would be glad to transfer management of his page to you, if you like, as I am not related to him.

Yes - date is a typo. I went on and changed Mary's when I did William. I really appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
This message coming from Berea, KY. :) Here a couple days to keep great niece - the freight train going through town with whistle blowing and oh there goes the college bells. As g-niece (6) says when we drive the Cades Cove loop - it doesn't get any better than this - and oh, I'm throwing this in exttra. :)

Hi, I did some more investigating after work and posted more to Sarah Bright listing. The 1850 Census of Spartanburg SC shows her as 1 year old, I listed 1949 as "new" birthdate. I need to remember death certificates are only as accurate as the informant. Thanks for all your work and information. Debbie

Hi, I posted Death Certificate for Catherine Bright Plemmons with her memorial. It shows her birth as November 23,1837 and death hard to read April 9, 1921. These two sisters it seems were closely born.

Hi, I have uploaded the death certificate for her as birth and death dates listed on the Mount Pleasant memorial to her. Her Parents Tobias and Rachael McElreath Bright as well as her husband are listed on this. Hope this helps to document the dates I had for her. Thank you,Debbie

Thank you for the information. I see that the information entered was his sister's Martha; however, I do not have his information. Can you please send me what you have so I can update the website? Please and thank you

I am wondering if you can help me on this matter for I do not live close by to go do this.
I need to see if you can take a picture of the headstone for me and see if there is any obituary there.
If this person is who i think it is.. he was married to my Aunt.
my email is email@example.com
Thank you for your help.
