Although I live in Kansas City, MO, my ancestors hail from Ralls County, MO and I have 10 acres there that I call "The Farm". We go there as often as possible and I love discovering forgotten cemeteries. My ancestors include the following families: Norton, Yager, Spalding, Whaley, Worthington & Warren. I am working on a genealogical database for all Ralls County burials--mother, father and spouse of all buried there. I welcome any additions, corrections, complaints and comments.

Thank you for adding the memorials and tombstone photos of my gr gr grandparents to Findagrave. Their tombstones look the same and I wonder if you would remember if there is actually only 1 tombstone with both of their names on it. And could there have been another name, yes, a third name on a third side of the tombstone? I did visit Lick Creek Cemetery years ago and remember that one of my families did have three names on one tombstone. I'm just trying to determine if this is the family.

Mathew Elsworth Watson b-1853
Mathew Watson's death certificate maybe in error. Please consider the following.

Mathew Elsworth Watson (b-1853 Ohio) parents are William R Watson b-1818 Ohio and "Lovina Ann Chaney" b-1819 Virginia. In 1883 Mathew married Belle L Robinson.

Mathew's brother is Granville Watson. In Granville Watson's Jan 1920 published Osborne County Farmer obituary... it states... Granville's brother (Mathew Watson) is living in Frankford Missouri.

History: As an unmarried man, Mathew Watson is on the 1860 Clinton Indiana, 1870 Tipton Indiana and 1880 Osborne Kansas census'

Mathew married Belle L Robison in 1883.

As a newly married man, Mathew is on the 1885 Osborne Kansas and 1900 Clinton Indiana census with the "same" wife (Belle) and "same" children... as listed in this memorial.

On the 1910 Rails Missouri census Mathew is listed as widowed.

Before his death Mathew is on the 1920 and 1930 Pike Missouri census'.

His brother Granville Watson was born in Miama County Ohio on 25 Jan 1849 and died on 25 Jan 1920. Granville married Emma C Reeves in Clinton Indiana. Granville moved to Kansas in 1877 and lived in Mitchell and Osborne Counties for 40-years before his death. Granville is considered as one of the oldest and best known Kansas Pioneer settlers.
