|Kathy Bowman||:Lage Braaten|
Thank you for all the info on Lage Braaten. When I read that I had two memorials for him, I deleted one. Then I saw that I had a number of edits and I'm not sure if any of those were from you for the Lage Braaten memorial that I had deleted! So now I don't know what to do. ... If you sent any edits for that memorial, can you let me know which they were so I can put them onto the memorial that I kept? ... I am so sorry to get that so messed up!!!
The memorial that I kept is # 135503031. If you want, we could send all the edits to Islington instead?
Thanks for you work on this!
|Susan Miller||RE: Carl Melander|
Not a problem. We have little history of my great grandparents as they had a fire and everything burned. My great grandparents were Andrew & Hannah Melander. I notice that Carl was born in Sweden and everything we've heard says that Andrew was as well. Hannah was sent to MN as an orphan from Sweden, adopted by a family named Larson. My mom said that Carl was her dad's cousin.
I have family listings on my dad's side (his mother) for 12 generations. We belong to the Daughters of the American Revolution there. But we have little of the Melanders so it's my goal now that I'm retired to research my mom's side of the family.
No problem not transferring. We're just trying to gather up all the files for family members not under control of family members.
Most of my Melander family relatives still live in eastern SD(we were born in Watertown). If you don't mind, can I contact you when I begin researching? You have information that may provide some links.

Are you a relative of Carl Melander? We believe he is the cousin of my great-grandfather, Andrew Melander. If you are not, could you transfer it to me? Thanks.

As requested, I've deleted my memorial #104674128 for your aunt. In case you want to include on yours the obituary that I had posted on mine, I've copied it below for you.

Just the 2... Hopefully she will remember some of the rest. I am stopping to see her next Tuesday
In addition to the single photos, I have a family photo that maybe you can identify all the members... Would love to send it to you.

Hi John... I got my info wrong as to how we are related. Your 3rd gr-grandparetns, John and Elizabeth BUFF Chandler, are actually my 1st cousins 4x removed. It is John's FATHER (your 4th gr-grandfather, James Henry Chandler) who is my 3rd gr-uncle and brother to my 3rd gr-grandfather Amasa Chandler. I'm sorry for the confusion, but I have nearly 400 Chandlers in my tree and I lose track of relationships sometimes. We are both from what is known as the "JRR-Robert" Chandler line which has been designated as part of the Genetic Chandler Family Group 7A by the Chandler Family Association. My self and Jack Winner are members who follow the Amasa Chandler line. There is no member who follows James Chandler and I'm sure the Association would love to have you as a member!!

Your 3rd gr-grandfather is my 3rd gr-uncle. I am from his brother, Amasa, and his wife Minerva (Richardson) Chandler. Minerva was the only member of her family that did not move to Oregon in 1852. I got the photos from a 2nd cousin in Kennewick. She's almost 85 and told me who they were. I'm supposed to stop and see her on my way to Spokane for Christmas. I totally understand what you mean about record errors. Even censuses can be wrong... Did you get my message about Amanda (Finnell) Chandler?
