Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been into genealogy since 1983 when a family member contacted me for information. Since then it has been hobby that never ends, a puzzle incomplete. The earlier years were different when I sat in libraries and historical societies throughout the northeast USA and read thru the microfiche. I did photograph headstones, but back then only because it might have been different or pretty. "Find A Grave" is a great treasure.

Living in the historic Wyoming Valley of Northeast PA, there are many cemeteries that are old and need to be preserved or logged soon.
I plan to do my share, and pass it forward .......

Since I also photograph as I travel I add many who are not of my family. If you have a family connection with any of my entries, please feel free to ask for transfer...

I HAVE WALKED AND PHOTOGRAPHED OVER 1700 HEAD STONES AT WEST PITTSTON CEMETERY, LUZERNE CO., SO I CAN POSSIBLY OFFER LOCATION HELP. Also, completed photographing Eaton Cemetery, Mosier Cemetery and other small family burying grounds

My most recent project was helping to finish the transcribed and digitization of the record books from Pittston Cemetery, and working with the negative scanning project from the Greater Pittston Historical Society ( GPHS ). Also helping to transcribe the old record books from the City of Pittston.

RE: Buildings on the outside
Yes hopefully we will! I've been a little under the weather so I haven't been there in about a week or so, but hoping I can get out there this week since the weather is supposed to be nice.

Buildings on the outside
Me again. One more question. I have pictures of the buildings on the outside (and there is one on the inside). Obviously they are locked, so there is no way to see the names inside. Have you worked on them or is that on your to-do list? I'm just not sure how to get the info and/or pics.

Thanks again.

RE: M Freeman - West Pittston
Yes, have noticed many people walking, it is a nice area for that. Actually told my husband that I wish I knew about this cemetery when we moved to Pittston 10 years ago, it's so close for walking. I grew up across the street from our Church/cemetery and we used to walk there all the time.
I did the whole outside, almost all of the top section and almost all of the far right section. Hoping to get out again tomorrow since it's supposed to be nice weather! I'm amazed at there being so many cemeteries in our area and not so many people adding them on here.

RE: M Freeman - West Pittston
Nice to meet you!!!
I have always lived in NEPA, originally from Moosic. Have lived in Pittston for 10 years now, just found West Pittston cemetery and started walking and taking pictures of the stones. It didn't look like many entries were being added so I started taking pics on nice weather days and adding entries/pics on bad weather days.
Is there any certain area you've done in the cemetery? I've made my own version of a map to keep track of what I have pics of & what's left. I don't want to step on toes if you're working on certain section/families...I find the cemetery strolls peaceful and relaxing since it's been a stressful year.

I do hope we get to meet!

M Freeman - West Pittston
There must be some significance with this date for this person - I just photographed the section this stone is in and went to fill the request and saw that you did it tonight! Sorry I didn't realize you had done parts of West Pittston cemetery...I've done a large part and am working on finishing taking pics before the snow starts. Guessing you're local to our area?

:)

Mountain View Cemetery
Hi! Wondering why you made manual edits to the corrections I've sent to you for this cemetery instead of accepting the edits?
