Please use email if you have questions regarding my memorials or want to know if I have more information. Please do not use the public message board here for this purpose.

Please always be sure to give credit where it's due. You may use my pictures for personal use only, with credit given to me: "Photo Courtesy: Dorothy Findagrave #47601262". My photos should not be used for publication in any way or form, without permission or knowledge from me. It's my pleasure to take photos and share them. I also contribute info when I can and often and I also create memorials along the way.

I trim my messages occasionally to keep it under control and keep those that I need to do deal with sometime.

A BIG thank you to ALL memorial creators, photographers, and info contributors who take the time and effort to make this project a huge success. It's really the collaborative effort that we all work together to make this Findagrave possible.

I've always had passion in genealogy. Virtually all my roots started in New England 400 years ago, heavily concentrated in CT and MA. It has been a fascinating journey discovering and learning so much more about my family, their migrations westward, and local history along the way. I have found that Findagrave has been an extremely valuable tool, a great asset in my research.

3) is the best source for DNA testing and also has the largest and well-established database. The bonus is they keep the testee's sample for 25 yrs for future tests. I especially urge those who have roots in Colonial New England have their living MALE relatives who carry the surname Phelps, Riley, Reed, Howe, Mason, Avery, Trowbridge, Eaton, Jackson, Kellogg, Ketchum, Olmsted, Stebbins, Bell, Knott, Douglass, Calkins/Caulkins, Carpenter, and so many more - to test their yDNA (FF, i.e. autosomal test called Family Finder is also another great tool, offered through FTDNA). We need your help to establish and confirm the surname branches.

I was working on the Dafoe family in my genealogy. My Great Great grandmother, Mary Jane Adelaide Dafoe - Jone is buried in Valley Center, Sanilac. I see you have added her brother John and his children. Thank You. I do not see a memorial for John's wife, Sarah. Is it possible that 119592214 is her grave...with half a stone. Census records have her being born in 1820. Thanks again. Sandi

St Ann Hornell
I am a little confused on the Margaret Haveron O'Brien memorial. You have her linked to Michael O'Brien, but his stone shows he is buried with a Mary Ann O'Brien. Was he married for a second time?

Thank you so much for adding on his parents and siblings for me. I am researching all of our Seymour line, which is our family to add as much info as possible. All the Pompey area Seymours are our relatives. My Grandmother was a Seymour and this is her line. I grew up in Skaneateles and our branch helped settle this area. Thanks again.

RE: John Barnes @ Evergreen
I went ahead and transferred his memorial to you.

We just received a dusting of snow this morning and are expecting more mid-week; I'll try to check his plot as the weather will allow. If there are others (I think Section 63 is mostly single & double plots, not large family plots), I'll get photos, create memorials and send them your way.

Best regards,

John Barnes @ Evergreen
Per cemetery records, the John G. Barnes buried there was born in South Dakota, the son of John Barnes and Elizabeth Ann Carr. The plot owner is listed as Myrtle Barnes, his wife. Online records stop at 1975, so there is nobody else listed at present. I'll make a note to stop by and check when the weather improves.

Hope this helps, please let me know if there's anything else I can do.

Thank you so much for creating this memorial...I had a stroke in 2004-5, and I am just now able to represent the daughter and complete the memorial with the help of the volunteers at the cemetery. The daughter (my mother's cousin) is sending me a picture of her mother and I was promised that I would hear back from the cem office on Monday with plans for: a cemetery plot map; the plot info, and a pic of the grave stone.
I am so willing to get this done for the daughter...I spoke to her last night and she reminded me she is 85. She has been an orphan most of her life, as her father's submarine, the U.S.S. Golet sunk in Honshu Bay, Japan during the Pacific campaign. Thank you for your kindness shown to our Viola.
Please advise if I may provide all this for you to include in her memorial at a later date. Thank you again. Jeanne/WILDWOOD - JRMSB (#46513740.

I am not sure what the inscription reads. Unfortunately, we are knee deep in snow right now so I can't go and check at the cemetery. I will try to remember when the weather gets better and go and check for you.
