|Sarah K. McIntee||RE: John Walker Worth|
My grandmother Josephine H. (nee Martin) Murphy was the executrix for John Walker Worth, known by my grandmother, and mother, as "Uncle John."
He was a musician, a very talented musician who went to New York after he wrote a very affectionate song for a girl cousin. My mother said , her mother said, the family was not thrilled with this potential incestuous relationship.
Uncle John was supposedly involved with various orchestras, maybe one related to opera, and I have a picture of him in a choir masters robe and cotta, so he evidently was a choir director. He played organ, probably for an Episcopal church.
I have more information about this family and their descendants, but I do not want to share it publicly.
Hi Vonna, thank you for uploading the pictures of my maternal grandparents grave markers. Eula Stout Hood and Boyd Washington Hood. I am assuming this is a very small cemetery because I had some difficulties finding anything on-line about it. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to submit these photos. I live out of state and this is truly a blessing to me. You have a grateful fan in Washington DC!

John's middle name, in our extensive family notes, as also noted by author K. Worth in partially biographical They Loved to Laugh, is "Walker," not William, after his grandmother's maiden name Fatima Walker, who married Joseph Addison Worth Aug 15, 1840 in Davidson County, NC

You are very welcome for the photo. Yes, the tomb was about 15 feet high and the Pagan's are on Level B, second from the top, so I had to stretch. Standing back is not an option. I did input a location edit, but the owner of the page is deceased, so I don't know if it will post. Peggy

|George and Terrie||RE: Worth Photo|
It was intentional. According to the cemetery records, Jessie is in this plot but there is no inscription on the headstone.
|Carolyn Gibbons||RE: Betsy Ann Gill Webster|
Don't now if I answered you about the DC for Emily. If you look carefully, the mother's maiden name is Gance. I did an article in my newsletter Jun 2014 on Thomas. If you want, I can send you a copy. You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you want.
