I was born and raised in Murphysboro, Jackson County, Ill. After retiring from teaching, I became involved in genealogy and then almost everything concerning Murphysboro and its people. |
I am most proud of my virtual cemeteries, especially the one honoring the teachers and staff of the Murphysboro school system.
Through it all, Find A Grave has been an enormous help. Because of it, I have made new acquaintances and friendships. I am especially thankful for my friendships with Laura Whistle Cates Duncan and Cecil Saul.

|DEX||RE: Vernadine Bodemuller|
I was dismayed that the cemetery had no record of Mrs. Bodemuller's burial. We tried all different spellings but came up empty. So sorry.

|Donna Gossett||Two teachers|
Check to see if you have Ed Horn and Gordon McGinnis ? Mr. Horn started me on the clarinet in the fourth grade and then left. Mr. MCGinnis was our Jr. High PE teacher. I looked but didn't see them listed. Did I give you Helen Rice? She would have graduated in '43,? Mr. Tilashalski was my English teacher.
|Donna Gossett||RE: Wrong picture on Leo Gossett, JR.|
I'm pretty sure I can come up with a picture for Leo, Jr. Thanks for all your help. Thought of another school and grave site person. Helen Rice. I believe she had a master and possibly a Doctor in education Her parents owned Rice Ladies wear downtown close to where Crawford's was. She also had an older brother. They lived on Maple. She probably graduated in 1943 with Doris. Also, the Johnson girls that lived on Maple. Their father had the little store across from Logan. He was also janitor at Logan. Charles Johnson probably could help you out their names.

You have George and Elaine's picture on Leo's Jr. memorial. Do you have a picture of Leo?
|Donna Gossett||Rosemary last name|
Just remembered. Rosemary last name was Pieron. She was a flight attendant. Was a close friend of Pauline, my sister. Her mother player the organ at First Baptist Church. They lived on the road going to Lake M'boro near the cemetery. Maybe this will help find her.
|Donna Gossett||more additions|
Sue Ashman, class of 1951? and Ted Keonigsmark, class of 49,? Sue lived next to the old football field and Ted's parents had the feed store on 11th,?. Still trying to think of Henretta's last name. Graduated with Doris in 1943. Good luck on finding these people.

Thank you for replying to my message. Yes, I am Sharon's sister. It hasn't been determined yet where Larry's remains will be buried.
