Air Force brat, music critic at the Shreveport Times 1977-1991, military reporter there 1992-2012, local desk editor 2012-present. Various editorships held, but writing is main gig. Co-author of a history of Barksdale Air Force Base. Interest in genealogy since 1990, willing to visit Northwest Louisiana cemeteries. Fascinated by the stories of those in them, cognizant that people only pass from memory if we let them.|
Unless there are historical or sentimental or research reasons disinclining me, I will transfer memorials upon request to children or grandchildren of those memorialized. More distant relationships will not guarantee transfer and are decided on a case-by-case basis. When available, I post news stories and obits associated with the deaths and am not responsible for the manner of death of a loved one -- suicide or murder for example -- or the public attention it may have garnered at the time. You cannot change history; it changes us.

Trying to find my great grandfather's parents. Shem Tyson born abt 1835 and died possibly late 1860's but before 1870
Arsane Bickham Tyson born abt 1839 and died before 1870.
In one census it list a
U Tyson B. 1860 and a C Tyson b. 1859
didn't know if they died as kids haven't been able to find any more about them, but kind of hard not know their actual names.
Thanks for any help, can't think off my head which spearman I was looking for but if I run across them I'll send their names. Thanks for any of you help.
Have several family members buried in Caddo Parish and see you referring to Burial noted by Millie Watkins in her self-published book "Caddo Parish Cemeteries. Is there a way to get a copy of this publication?

Thank you for submitting the picture of my Great Grand Mother, Julia Sparke Rule, I do not believe I have seen that particular one. I have one of her paintings-I will have to take a picture of it & add it to her memorial. I am searching for more information about her. J Frank McAneny was a close friend of my family...he helped us discover some information. I believe she was the first female reporter for The Times, along with many other accomplishments. If youhave any more information regarding her legacy, please contact me at email@example.com Thank You again-Sincerely-Lacy L. Jones

I wish to thank you for making a correction to my mother-in-law's info. Due to the considerable difference in her age and her husband's age, I can see why it might seem that he was her father. She was Bose F. Kelley's second wife.
I have a question for you. One child, Ruby M. Kelley Beadle is shown - (b) 1/1/1927 (d) 2/13/2013.
There are four other children and they are all living. Is this the reason (living) that they cannot be shown?

|Lee Manning||John Cameron memorial|
Thanks John for catching it. I did not create that memorial, but it was one of over 41,000 that I "inherited" when the original creator died. I looked it up on another database and he indeed had missed the birth by a century. It has now been corrected.
