death certificates for Sarvis & Neely?
In all your Horry County searches, have you run across death certificates for my great-grandparents, Sharlotte (Charlotte) Ada Sarvis Neely (born 1854) and Joseph E. Neely (born 1862)? Thanks for any help.

That is very nice and courteous of you to transfer my Mother's grave memorial to me. I have not taken the time to checked the memorial managers on other family members . The article I had put in had two sheets and it filled up the space so I decided not to add it...Since all memorials have an "Add Photo" on a voluntary basis in order to put documentation to the person whose memorial is in view I hope that my additions were not out of line....When new documents come across my path I try to post them as soon as I can so they don't get lost in documentation loads...Hope I have not offended you with my additions...This is my Mom....

I just added my Mom's "Certificate of Ownership" to her grave at Hillcrest Cemetery and as usual the picture slid the arrangement down...could you rearrange the photos where Mom's portrait is on top again...then her grave purchase, then her obituary ...
Thank you very much.

Hi Patty,
Just wanted to let you know I met the daughter and trustee of Bethesda and we spoke, during our talk she showed me the graves I suggested edits to you per the family links; just wanted to let you know how I acquired the relationships via Mrs. Rovina White, thanks :)

RE: Doris Cheek Whittington

After Clifford was killed, Doris returned with their daughters to her hometown of Dillon, SC. An attempt, I assume, to rebuild their lives. They married very young. Aged 18yrs and 15yrs respectively. So, at 20 yrs old, Doris found herself a war widow with two young girls. Yes, it's almost Shakespearean in its tragedy. Doris, as you may have noticed since you contributed her headstone photo, also lost her father at about the same age as Linda and Barbara. Doris comes of age, marries her prince charming and promptly loses him to battlefield heroism in southeast Asia. Doris and the girls have only very recently been discovered by descendants of Clifford's side of the family. As far as we can deduce from records, Linda grew up to marry and raise 3 sons in the Dillon-SC area. Linda passed in 2013. Barbara is still living, as far as we know, in the Dillon area.
It appears, however, that Barbara never married nor had children and became a spinster. We believe Barbara is around 73 years of age now and living alone in the Dillon area. It appears that no one is aware that they have family up north or that their father/grandfather was a certified war hero. I come to this conclusion from the errors made in Linda Wray's obituary of 2013. I believe they think Clifford's name was "Justin", not Jeston.

I do not intend to request a transfer for Doris' memorial as she was my Aunt by law. But, with her very tragic life story, I felt it was my duty to clarify some of the mystery behind her headstone. Lest people assume that Doris was Douglas Cheek's wife or sister and not his daughter. Thank you for caring for Doris' memorial. She too, sacrificed so much for the safety of our nation. I too, have no doubt, that Clifford's heroism was driven by his desire to make it back home to his wife and daughters.
