My grandmother passed away in December 2007. When she did I realized I didn't know anything about her side of the family so I started searching for them. Find A Grave was a very helpful tool to me. I found out more about my grandmother's side of the family than even my mother knew. Probably more than my grandmother knew. In my search I was able to contribute to Find A Grave in the hopes that I could help others who wanted to know where they came from. My husband and my mother started helping me and we had a lot of fun in our searches. Finding cemeteries took us to a lot of places we'd never been and helped us to have a lot of respect for families and cemeteries.
