Bio Photo First, I would like to point out that the photos on the memorial pages are thumbnails and will open larger if clicked on; and they will usually open larger twice more if you click twice more.
If you want to use any of my photos for your family tree, you have my permission.
I am shy about going to cemeteries through private property and I avoid really large cemeteries in hot weather.
Otherwise, I am happy to help.
If you want me to delete one of my photos so that you may add a better photo - no problem.
My husband and I don't have a relative, living or dead, south of Little Rock, Arkansas. My Deep South memorials are not my people.
My list of PET PEEVES:
1) Moldy old silk flowers.
2) People who don't say thank you.
3) Fire ants and wasp.
4) Too much herbicide around tombstones.

RE: Harold Whinon
Thank you for ALL of your help. I really do appreciate it.

I think he was in East St. Louis, MO for a while. Not certain of the time period. Then from there to Colorado Springs. Then at some time, I believe he must have moved to California. Think he was in the Colorado Springs area ca 1950.

RE: Harold Whinon
Thank you. I now have the obit for J A Whinon. What is the name of that newspaper and the date of the paper, please?

Thank you,
Brenda

RE: Harold Whinon
Would you please also consider WANER and WANEN in the search on your paid subscription? I believe Harold used the name Waner or Wanen or variation of that spelling. I am certain I have the right man, because his widow has his birth cert and baptismal records, naming his birth parents, down to his mother's maiden name on those papers. I think he changed his name slightly, when he ran away. I think he wanted not to be found again, by his family, thus the change in that last name.

THANK YOU,
Brenda

PS: Apparently Harold changed the spelling of his last name, at some point in time, as it was sometimes spelled as Winon or a variation thereof, after he got out on his own. He had made mention, when he was still alive, of living in Florida for some period of time, but he didn't go into any detail. The family thinks there MIGHT have been a first wife in Florida. He never talked about his early years.

I just grabbed it. Thank you so VERY much.

Do you have a paid subscription? Do you mind if I ask which subscription? Perhaps I should purchase one.

Again, my thanks to you. Harold is the father of my friend. He died in California.

Is there perhaps any sign of a marriage for him in Florida? Any sign of why he went to Florida?

BINGO!
THANK YOU for telling me about that article. I also found all the thank you notes Edgar's parents published in the paper 1 Nov 1919, after Edgar's funeral.

Lastly was a note from HAROLD WHINON, the one I am researching specifically, signing it as the brother to Edgar (they appear together in the 1910 census with parents, but then of course, Edgar is gone in the 1920 census) with Harold being there in the 1920 census, and gone from the family by the 1930 census.

Thank you so VERY much. I would never have found the note from Harold, the missing son, and father of the lady I am helping.

Thank you so VERY much. This is that same newspaper?

Harold Whinon is the father of the lady who I am trying to help. He is now deceased, but "something" happened to him / the family ca 1920 and he seems to have lost touch with the family. That article that you found explains more than I knew, and also explains why he is not listed in his mother's obit in 1951. THANK YOU.
