Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching the Kavanaugh Clan for some time. During my strolls through the cemeteries I took pictures of headstones trying to find my relatives. It is important to keep a picture of the headstone. As genealogist you feel a validation to that person.

Vandalism comes in many forms whether it be the most severe of adolescents destroying markers to our past family or to the tractor's used to mow that chip, break bases and knock over headstones.

Researching William Davis line from Dallas to Bibb County, Alabama. Very mind bottling about one of his son's Ransom Davis.

Researching Bennet Daniel Ponder. Born in Simpson County, Mississippi. This is my great grandfather. He lived in Copiah County, MS. Very little is known by me at this time. Any help would be apprectiated. I have his father as Amos Ponder and mother Harriett Evans Ponder. She is buried at Poplar Springs Cemetery. Any help appreciated.

I hope my small contributions helps others.
Please let me know to correct any mistype.
I will be happy to add additional information or photo's but please do not ask for transfers. Many hours were taken to provide these resources and expense of gasoline to locate these cemeteries.

Julius Cathey - Memorial # 22046795
Hi Sharon, The memorial is showing Julus as the first name, but the headstone is showing Julius. Could you please correct? Thank you for all you do for findagrave!

Robrt Steel/Steele
I think you may be right that Robert had a first wife. I can find no evidence of a daughter Sarah, but I did find a record of a son, Alexander, born 1812. His wife Rachel Duggan Steel was born in 1800, so although possible, it is unlikely that Alexander is her son. I will keep digging.
Thank you for the photos of the headstones. My family (descendants of Robert and Rachel's son, Romulous Augustus Steel) were thrilled to see them.
Sincerely,
betty Lambert

Memorial 32820816
I took your photograph of the grave marker of Catharine Lee and slightly tilted the lower broken part. As you can see by looking at the picture which I have posted on the memorial for you to see, the date of death falls nicely into place and agrees with the date of death my family records have as her dying in 1850. It appears she died on December 10 of that year.

If you want me to remove the photo from your site, I will gladly do so, but I would like to ask your permission to use my edited version on my family history tree at Ancestry.com.

These broken stones that are embedded in the ground can be so difficult to read and a little technology can often help.

Thanks for considering my request.

Thank you for transferring the memorials of Merton E. Bell, his wife, Daisy and son, Harry; who are buried in Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, Louisiana to my care. Sharon, your work is invaluable to individuals like me doing family research. ~ with appreciation, George Gaston

RE: New Prospect
I'm sorry to hear that. Are some of your memorials also missing, or just your photos? That is so weird! Maybe you should email Jim Tipton (FindaGrave's founder) about it. If he's unaware of these things happening, I think he should be told.

My cemetery photo for Welcome Home Cemetery in Caldwell Parish also recently vanished -- shortly after they added two new cemetery photos by another contributor. The photos were completely different (taken of different signs), so I don't know why they removed the one I took.
