Bio and Links
Bio Photo OK..so I've been doing Find-a-Grave for a while now and have decided to change my bio a bit.

Here are my thoughts on this stuff.

Relax..enjoy what you're doing otherwise you should stop before you get too far into it. No man is an island and this certainly can't be done alone. Rather than complain about someone's work...help them with it.

TRANSFERS: In most cases I'll transfer any memorial that isn't listed in my family surnames. I transfer on a case by case decision. I don't have issues with the number of generations. If I've transferred a memorial to you, please be sure you can maintain it or make the changes that others request. If for any reason, you can't maintain the memorials I've transferred to you, I'll be more than happy to take it back. ..please don't ask for a transfer of memorials and then become an inactive member, and have all your memorials go stagnant...TRANSFER THEM BACK OR TRANSFER THEM TO SOMEONE WHO CAN MAINTAIN THEM.

PICTURES: If I've taken a picture or attached a document ... please help yourself...no need to give me credit. I don't need to toot my horn or have it tooted. I've added them to the memorials for everyone to use. If you want to attach a picture to my memorials that are better than mine...please do so. I welcome them, but keep in mind I might use them in Ancestry.com if they're in my family tree....thanks again in advance.

EDITS: If there are errors in any of the memorials that I've entered please let me know. I'll be glad to correct them as well as make any changes necessary. PLEASE USE THE EDIT BUTTON.

FLOWERS: PLEASE PLEASE don't use the flower section as a place to add a bio for the memorial...that isn't where it belongs. If I happen to come across one on a memorial that I've created, I will ask you to remove it. I'll gladly add it to the bio...just send me an EDIT. If it isn't deleted in a timely amount of time I will ask edit@findagrave.com to remove it.

DUPLICATES: Duplicates happen...it's impossible not to happen. We've all created duplicates. If you've created a duplicate, please don't ignore the courteous request to delete them. I will gladly delete mine. If you don't delete your duplicate within a reasonable amount of time, I will ask edit@findagrave.com to do so.

It's hard for me to understand that these memorials belong to any one person....I believe they belong to "all" of us.

A sincere THANK YOU to all the Find a grave volunteers for all the hard work, help and dedication that you've given me.

RE: Maine Archives
Oh.my.goodness. No, I hadn't noticed the change. Seems like a sign of the times, privacy protection taken to a new dimension in bureaucracy.

Thanks for letting me know!

Thanks for the notice. That is a quirk with F.A.G. I have never understood.

Reta Hicks Hillier bio
Hi! Just thought I'd send you this quick note to let you know a little more information about my Grandmother on my mother side Reta Hicks Hillier, who is one of the profiles you have done on find a grave. Please feel free to add this to her bio if you feel others will find this information helpful in their search for their relatives.
Her actual birth name was Margaret Reta Hunt daughter of Edward Hunt and Margaret Roberts Hunt. When she was three years old her mother died and the children were adopted out to different families. She was adopted by Edgar Hicks. She was born in Jefferson, Coos, NH. This is perhaps how she ended up living in Lancaster, NH. because her adoptive father Edgar Hicks at one time ran the local movie theater, which I believe was located in the Lancaster Town Hall. In later years she worked at Weeks Memorial Hospital taking care of the babies in the nursery. Hope this info is helpful. Keep up the great work Connie! Sincerely, KSP. (Sookie)
