I've been doing genealogy since 1992 when I actually went to Kentucky to check on the old Young farm in Guston and also to Wytheville, Virginia, to check on my Umberger ancestors. |
My ancestor, Greenberry F Young settled in Brandenburg after marrying Ann Simmons there in 1832. In 1850, he was in Lawrence County Indiana after going broke. His oldest son, William Davis Young re-appears in Meade County to marry Sally Ashcraft in 1862.
I am also working on the relatives of my maternal grandfather, Victor Glenn Umberger, and his father, Franklin T Umberger, of Wythe Co, VA.
I am truly grateful for how much easier the Internet has made genealogy activity; especially the databases at Ancestry, FamilySearch and FindaGrave.

|JaimeM||Sam and Isabelle|
Hi Dobie -
Would you mind to link Sam's to Isabelle's. She's at Calvary cemetary in San Angelo under Isabella Marie Swirczynski. You should be able to find her right away. I created one for her and for Arnie and connected them. I couldn't figure out how to link the two to Sam.
Thanks so much,
Jaime Moore McDonald - Coletta's Daughter

I noticed you have done a lot of great entries for Kelleys island. I wonder if you, or someone you might know of, would know where exactly
William Henry Albright Schlesselman(n) 1849-1922 immigrated from. Memorial# 85966070
A lot of Kelleys Island immigrants seemed to have come from near the sea, or from small islands, in Northern Europe. I wonder if that is the case for William?
|Larry E. Barnes||Albert Lee Smith memorial|
I noticed that Albert's father is shown with the middle name Blancet. I've been amazed me how it was handed down through the generations. If you aren't aware of it, you can see an explanation on the Blant D. Shacklett (1835-1916) memorial. I descend from Ben W. Shacklett and Elizabeth Ashcraft Shacklett of Meade Co., Ky.

Thank you ever so much for the lovely photos of his marker. So nice of you to mark the photo, showing them next to one another! It means so much for the families. Thanks for all you do!

Hi, I linked her to her father, but the memorial number you sent me for her mother was for somebody who died in 2012. By the way, one of my best friends is from Downey (now lives out in Yorba Linda). I am live in Kentucky, but grew up in Arcadia, CA.

You are most certainly welcome! Good luck with your search. :)

Did you not know where this grave was? I photo'd about 5,000 entries in this cemetery for over a year, and occasionally get neat msg's from relatives that have never seen a pic of the stones I placed. Hope this helps complete some of your searches.... Enjoy the memorial, Charles
My grandmother (Dad's Mom) was a Young who came from the Lejeune family near Opelousas. Lejeune translated to English is "the young". The first families were from France.... but I guess you already knew that... Long history!!!
|fordvickie||RE: The York family headstone photo's|
Hello Davis, I want to THANK YOU so very much for your time and effort in taking and posting the headstone photo's of the York family at the Park Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Commerce, CA.
They were the mother, father and brother to my Aunt May (York) Walters.
Sincerely John (fordvickie)
|Susan VanVoorhis||RE: Samuel C Ishmael marker|
The more think about this, I know that there are not any markers near Samuel's with same last name of Ishmael. The reason is, that the entire Hawthorne Lot has been worked by a Find A Grave volunteer by the name of SBGRAVES. He and I are in contact. He does whole sections at a time. He will go and write down all the info and then come home and create memorials for them. I am working on the section with him, by photographing each marker one by one. I am only on row 3 currently, though. I have had some health issues and cannot go as much as I want to. He recently finished the whole Hawthorne lot, though. In addition, I did a quick search by putting the names that you gave me into the search box for Montecito and nothing has come up. But, not all of the entire cemetery is done, so can't say for sure they are not there. But, one thing I do know, is most likely they are not in Hawthorne Lot!
