THANK YOU for the info on this memorial. This is my mother's sister who passed away as an infant. There is no headstone and the church records were lost in a fire in the 1940's. She is buried in my great grandmother's plots but the church doesn't have a record of it and we have been back and forth with them trying to prove she's there and where to put the marker. This will be a huge help!
I sent you an update with date of Death for Grace Kerns - Please ignore it. The obituary said she died September 17 however, after looking again, I see the paper is dated September 16 so clearly the paper was in error.

Thank you for taking this photo of my grandfathers grave! I submitted a correction to his middle name which is Markley. Another member states it incorrectly. I do have physical proof if that's necessary. Thanks!

A beautiful grandmother and woman within your image of her! Can you provide her name to me, as I am an Atwood researcher, and relative.
Relatives in line of disent:
John Elderidge Atwood, Jr - Princess Anne County
John Elderidge Atwood, Sr, and Joye Munden
Henry Clay Atwood, "Maggie" Capps and Ada Blake Williams
William Walter Atwood, Sr and Sarah Ann Land
William Lovett Atwood and Ann Bonney
John Atwood & Elizabeth James - Princess Anne County
I have found, I believe the progenitor of the 1st Atwood within this line, several weeks ago, from this date of 1/16/2015.
Edward Atwood, born July 30, 1630, in Teddington, county Worcestershire, England to Charles Atwood, born 1596, Teddington, county Worcestershire, England, and to Alice (or Elizabeth as sometime called) Giles Gilbert, also born of Teddington, county Worcestershire, England in 1606. Married 25 October 1624 in Teddington, county Worcestershire, England.
If this Charles Atwood's family had been of long tenure there in Worcestershire, this Branch of the Atwood family would be of long standing, and called the Worcestershire Branch of the Atwood family, and even prior to the year 1066, before the arrival of the Duke of Normandy at the Battle of Hastings.
A very distinguished family of old, with many Knights, serving several kings of England.
Due to the service of the country, Duke of Normandy (King William I and called William the Conqueror) allowed the Atwood family to maintain their property, only one of the few families in England allowed to do, after the Battle of Hastings, near Hastings, Kent, England, in the year 1066.
This Charles and Alice, are believed by me, to be connected to the Shenandoah, Virginia Atwood family of Gilbert Atwood, coming from London, England to Maryland, then settling within the Shenandoah, Virginia area. The given name of "Gilbert" came from the surname of Alice Giles Gilbert, born 1606, county Worcestershire, England.
Believed the Mayflower traveler, Stephen Hopkins is an ancestor of the Princess Anne County, Virginia Atwood families.
Princess Anne County, Virginia; Shenandoah, County, Virginia; and Franklin County, Ohio, Atwood's are related, through Edward and Alice Gles (Gilbert) Atwood. No documentation, however, has not been established yet, as this information was just recently discovered.
There are two Thomas Atwood's buried at Willowood Cemetery within the now City of Virginia Beach, Virginia. One of the Thomas graves shows death in 1675, the other in the 1700's.
I believe the 1675 death is an ancestor of John descendant of Edward Atwood, born 1596 in county Worcestershire, England. It is also believed the Thomas Atwood passing in the 1700's and buried there at Willwood, is also related to Edward Atwood, born 1596 in county Worcestershire, England.
May all our relatives forever be remembered!
