I am helping my mother with her genealogy research by locating our ancestors' graves. Then, I got involved with several friends, helping them create their trees and memorials. You can see the names we are following in my virtual cemeteries. Along the way, I have found others' ancestors and created their pages. Now I have documented our ancestry to Col. Daniel Boone which was very interesting. And, finding the "Women of the American Revolution." Next trying to break down several "brick walls."
If I have entered any information that is incorrect, please contact me for a correction. I want to keep the information as accurate as possible.
I'm happy to transfer management to family members, just ask! Please use the "Edit" tab and "Suggest a Correction" when doing so and remember to give your member# along with your relationship or reason for the transfer.
I believe that memorials should belong to family members whenever possible, as family have a personal interest in honoring their relatives and are better able to complete, maintain and improve memorials with additional details and research. I am more than willing to have family members "adopt" them.

I am planning a photo trip to this cemetery soon. If you call the cemetery and find out the exact location of the gravesite, I will try to find her. Especially if the grave is unmarked, then I still need to know a Space #, not just section and column. Thanks!

Janice, I've not been able to find out any info on Norman. The cemeteries office is closed on the weekends to have someone in the office try to find him. We usually get referred to using the on-line lookup and he does not pull in the data base as to being buried at any National cemetery. Maybe he just had a memorial service done at the cemetery and is buried elsewhere which happens more often than people know.

Not sure what I'll do with the photo on the post; the explanation that Matthew K. Green thinks it's Septimus is his own choice.
I descend through Levina Boone, as well, of course (through Levina's son Septimus Scholl and through Harriet Rite Boone Scholl's father--was it Thomas?--Harriet the wife of Nelson Scholl.

Thanks, Janet. I understand Mary Eliza Scholl Kyger's descendant believes this to be a photo of Septimus Scholl, but I am far less sure simply because photography was not that far advanced by the time Septimus died in 1849. I may be as stubborn as the proverbial Missouri mule, but I still think the photo is of Septimus's son Nelson (father of Mary Eliza Scholl Kyger). As you may have figured out, I descend from Mary Eliza's older sister Sarah Ann Scholl (who married Harrison Hoover).
PLEASE: A burial location is needed to fill your photo request. The Sparkman Hillcrest (SH) office will not readily provide locations to volunteers. Please call them at 214-363-5401 and they will be glad to help you. The SH office is open on Saturday and Sunday. Let me know the location and I will be honored to fulfill your request, typically within a day or two. If you created the memorial and prefer to edit the memorial to show the plot location, that would be fine as I check the SH photo requests regularly as do other volunteers. Thanks for your assistance.

I am just looking for some clarification as I noticed there is no photo or cemetery record sourced, is there a source for this grave other than 'family records." If not, what are the family source records?

|Linda Mitchell||RE: Two Kelley headstone photos|
I am just glad I was able to find those two. There are so many old and broken stones in this cemetery. I went to city hall to get the information on where I could find these, as well as several others. There was a sign in the office asking for donations to help with repairing some of them. Although I live in Kansas, I have some relatives buried there and so I donated to the cause. Wish I could do more.... :-(

There is NO record of this person (# 47671119) in this cemetery. Please transfer him to "unknown cemetery."
|Lyn McDaniel||RE: You sent me a message with no email to respond|
Thanks for the quick reply; it came through the FindAGrave system. I didnít know you were as closely related as I, so itís fine if your keep Joseph. Only thing I wonder about is where the middle initial ďLĒ came from. Iíve never seen him with a middle name in nearly 40 years of work. I wonder if someone didnít make it up? Otherwise, everything you have matches what I have. Have you actually seen his grave? No one has, that Iíve talked to.
I have a lot more details about him, and if youíd like to chat, my addr. is LLMCD2005 at yahoo.com.

You are very welcome. I forgot that I did that. I thought that plaque was so beautiful.
