Hi! I am Ann I have been doing genealogy for ages it seems. As someone once said, "You don't know where you're going till you know where you've been". Genealogy has taught me more history, more geography, more law, more photography and HOW TO USE A TOPO MAP, than school ever did. My ancestors stare at me through photo's asking me what I've done with my life and I am always humbled to look back and say "Not as much as you did with yours". Genealogy has even taught my husband how to ask for directions :-)

RE: Horton Cemetery--Wyett, Elliott Co., KY
Actually, there are two cemeteries on top of the hill. The Tolliver Cemetery is behind the small barn, and the Horton Cemetery is in front of the barn. The cemeteries are on the Buddy Pennington farm on KY 173 approx. 1.7 miles across the Rowan County line in Elliott County. The number on the Pennington's mailbox is 5300, I believe. The location is on the left as you travel from Rowan County. Just before you get to the Pennington farm you will see a small road sign that says Black Lane. Good luck in your travels and your research.

would you please contact me regarding the Rice family at Carter County Memory Gardens? Are you related to Jessie Rice-Bowersmith? This is my family.
I have left a message before.

Regina Rice Hoops
Rice family
Hi Ann,

My name is Regina Rice-Hoops. I was looking at the Carter County Memory Gardens site in Grayson, Ky. My family are buried there. Father is Howard W. Rice, grandparents are Thomas F. Rice and Sarah Maggard Rice. My Great grandparents are Holman Rice and Julia Greene. Imagine my surprise when I saw you have the same great grandparents!!
I would very much like to know how we might be related?? I know all my first cousins but don't know of an Ann??
I was so astounded to find generations back as far as 5 generations. As well as a picture of "our" great grandparents.
It would mean so much to me if you would email me at jandrhoops@att.net. I would love to speak with you if at all possible in the future.
Thank you so much,
Regina Rice-Hoops

RE: James Knox Pollk Horton in Bent Cemetery, Langlade Co., Wisconsin
I think the place was very clean, we walk the whole yard. we started back by the shed and out buildings, started finding the ones we were looking for in the front north east corner. I don't remember rock piles or anything else. but do remember storm damage were trees blew over some time. if there was broken markers they could of been in the shed, I don't even remember a dirt pile.
