I believe I saw your name on another Stevens history link via google, and remembered the name on findagrave. I am assuming that you must have a Stevens tie.
I am descended from Abigail Stevens, Thomas's sister. She married John McChesney. Family tree info can be found on Ancestry under Behl/McChesney family tree. In Ancestry, I think under Pensions, Abigail had requested a widow's pension for John's service in the Revolutionary War. Thomas wrote a supporting letter for her and it is documented there along with what looks like a McChesney bible page which includes the Abigail and John marriage. In the letter, Thomas states he attended their marriage.
I am in the process of registering John with the SAR. Once that is complete, I will be resubmitting with Matthew Stevens, as I know he is also a patriot.
Just a quick question, do you know what church Thomas was a deacon at?

Thank you so much for the additional info! We are trying to document all the burials in the cemetery. I was able to find an entry in the lot sales book, which I've added- "Anna C. Stephens" purchased half the lot shortly after he died. (He doesn't appear in the burial records, the published book on the cemetery, or early Aurora death records.) If you would like management of the memorial, just let me know, I'd be happy to transfer.

Just a heads up that Angela wrote me back and is beginning to transfer management over to me. I've sent a email to an admin to see if there's a way to do a en masse transfer.
As for Haven of Rest, if you are still interested in helping, Kathy Stroope Veasey (#47009271) has done Section 10 and completing the Masoleum; once she's done there she's going over to Section C. I am doing Section 4.

If you could transfer management that would be great. I'm planning on going to Haven of Rest to double check on the Cromwell internments.
As time and weather allows I'll help with the Haven of Rest project that Kathy Stroope Veasey has begun and is still working on.

not yet.. I walked the majority of it today.. the cememtery is divided in half with the older stones closes to the road and the newer stones in the back.. most of the newer stones are large (like that of the pic I posted) and are easy to read.. the old stones however are very weathered.. so it will take some time to find anyone older than that.. Fred Staar has posted most of the memorials for individuals buried before the turn of the last century.. Is there someone in particular that you're looking for??

There was also a Fanny and Michael Harford in this cemetery, their pictures are on their memorial page. This cemetery has one of the most beautiful views-it overlooks Keuka Lake, the cemetery page photos do not do it justice!
