Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Southern Maryland and have been assembling my extended family's genealogy for the last 15+ years. I continue to work on the genealogy in the fall and winter as time allows, and am glad to run down cemetery photos locally. Prominent names in my genealogy are Keefe, Casey, Hickey, Howley, Welsh, and Lally in New England; Stevens, Stout and Grant in Philadephia and Central New Jersey; Willis & Brady in Virginia and North Carolina; and Legg, Lecates, Meekins, Minch, Sparks, Burris, and Schauber in the Eastern Maryland (DelMarVa) peninsula.

If you find an error in a listing that I created, please don't hesitate to let me know. While doing my own genealogical research, I also photograph and list many unrelated gravestones as time permits. In keeping with Findagrave.com policy, I will gladly transfer a memorial to you because you are directly related to that person.

Karl Reihl, Jr.
Hi Stephen .. I'll begin by asking what does it mean to transfer a memorial? I think I might like to have this one transferred to me. My 2 sisters and I are the only descendants of this generation.

The stone you have photographed, documented, and posted for Karl Reihl Jr. In Rock Hall is that of my great grandfather. I'm posting this publicly because there are quite a few Reihl's in Rock Hall, and I believe Karl's relationship should be clarified. Perhaps someone else will be interested.

Karl, Jr. Was born in Germany in 1884, but not as Karl Reihl. He was born to Augusta Araminta Gnuschke who was married at that time to (first name to be determined) Gnuschke. They divorced and she remarried, in 1888, the man Karl Sr (who was apparently called Carroll).

Fast forward to 1909, Karl Gnuschke, along with his wife Karoline Glinka and their 1-year old daughter Ellie immigrated to the United States. Our family story is that they took the name of Karl's mother's 2nd husband as a means for cleaner entry into the country. Perhaps he officially adopted Karl, even though he was married with a child?

The Jr. And Sr. Is awfully confusing if he was indeed adopted, in a sense. So all of the Reihl's that are listed as his siblings are actually half-siblings (sharing only their mother) .

So Karl "Jr's" record should include:
Birth name: Karl Gnuschke
Wife: Karoline Glinka
Children: Ellie Augusta Frederica Gnuschke (Reihl) b 1908
(Ellie's birth certificate lists Gnuschke .. She is my grandmother)
Margaretta (Grace) Reihl, b around 1911
Paul Carl Reihl, b 1918, d 1919

Karoline married again, had another child, and is buried in Baltimore with her 2nd husband

Thanks for what you do. This was a really helpful find.

RE: Thanks very much!
You're welcome, Steve. There's a number of Lusby monuments at St. Stephens but I won't be able to get to them tonight. The edit tool works well but it makes sense to transfer them to you. Dennis

RE: Thanks Again!
You're welcome! The stone was so light and it was so sunny it didn't come out very well :( I'll try to remember to take a better one when I go back.

Hi Stephen, Glad I could help. Also, buried with Rebecca was a Reuben Tilton. Took a picture if you are interested in this man. His dates look like 1881 - 1907. I could send it to you if you would like.

You're welcome! She was the only Postles that I saw on the area. But I can check again. It's fairly close.

Hi
Don't know how close you are related, but her stone is apart in a HOLE....... isn't broken, but hole needs to get done, I know the caretaker, will see what I can get done. ANY hole or whatever I need done ALWAYS gets done at milford odd for me by Scott Sipple, whose family owns sipple monuments, BUT this cem is different, so don't have any idea how much they will do for me.
Glad to help. BTW took pic of almost everyone in there, just going thru and adding as I get to them.."think" there are more Hurds etc...I have ADDED more memorials in there than were recorded, infact,at one point I had it up to almost 60 percent photod but since adding name, I am now down to 41 percent, :(
