Valeria McCord Clark
The correct birthday for her is January 14, 1920. Not 1915. That was the year dad was born (J. Brown Clark) .

If I can be of any assistance with anything, please let me know. Also, when is the memorial Sunday for 2012?

Thanks again.

The year of death is 1983, not 1933.

L C (Lewis or Louis) Reppond ... Who is he?
Brenda ...

L C and Missouri Reppond were the parents of James W Reppond ...

James W and Callie Reppond were the parents of Benjamin F Reppond ... who, if I've interpreted your message correctly, was your grandfather; therefore, L C and Missouri Reppond would be your g-g-grandparents.

I'm not asking you for help. What I've tried to suggest to you is ... L C Reppond may not be at rest in Sulphur Springs City Cemetery, as the Find A Grave memorial indicates because there is no listing for him in the published inventory of plot markers at City Cemetery. His name and dob are inscribed on the reverse side of the stone marker for Missouri Reppond in the Union Cemetery; however, his dod is not inscribed on it. Even so ... he could be at rest beside Missouri in Union Cemetery ... even though a dod was not inscribed into the stone after his interment.

I was in the area; and I made a wide shot of the Reppond family plot at Union, which I will post to the memorial for Missouri Reppond. It shows the relative postions of Missouri to James and Callie. I also shot the side of the marker for L C Reppond; but I won't do anything with it unless you request it.

BTW ... the stone marker for Missouri (and hence L C) has been rotated 90 deg, since the photo that is posted to her memorial, was taken.

RE: L C (Lewis or Louis) Reppond ~ S S City
Brenda ...

My mistake!

I just leaped to a conclusion that ... since you have a pending photo request for the plot marker of Lewis (or Louis) Reppond at Sulpur Springs City Cem ... I assumed you actually knew who he was.

L C (Lewis or Louis) Reppond ~ S S City
Brenda ...

How certain are you that L C Reppond is at rest in S S City Cem?

I examined the published transcription inventory; and, if he had a stone marker there, it should have been reflected in the inventory; but it was not.

On the other hand, his name and dob (1832) is inscribed on the reverse side of the stone marker for M A Reppond at the Union Cemetery ... but the inscription does not include a dod. So ... while the stone was prepared in anticipation of his interment, he may not actually be at rest beside her.

Sam M McCord
Brenda, I think that Sam M McCord death date may be incorrect. I think his death date is 1983 not 1933.

I may be confused but can you check on this?

Below is the information I found when I google for Alfred McCord:
Funeral services for Alfred McCord, 93, of Sulphur Springs were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Curtis French and Brother Tommy Hall officiating. Interment followed at Restlawn Memorial Park with Michael Grantham, Joseph McCord, Brad McCord, Jay Eppars, Mike Hawkins and Larry Vititow serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Sims, Dickie Wilkinson, Jimmy Lewis, Mike Clark, Loyd McCord and Billy McCord.
Mr. McCord died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004 at Carriage House Manor.
He was born on Sept. 28, 1910, in Weaver, to J.B. and Cora Lee Wilson McCord. He married Opal Springer on Jan. 30, 1935, in Hopkins County. She preceded him in death in 1990.
Mr. McCord was a painter. He was a member of Davis Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Ann Grantham of Mesquite; one son, Ronald Alfred McCord of Sulphur Springs; three grandsons, Michael Lynn Grantham of Greenville, Joseph Grant McCord of Sulphur Springs, David Bradley McCord of Pickton; two granddaughters, Leslie Carol Eppars and Reggie Hawkins, both of Sulphur Springs; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Mr. McCord was also preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.

Hope this helps you!
