|Bio and Links|
The Whitefield (Maine) Historical Society has been collecting and preserving its local history to share with others since 1976. In early 2012 we decided to post on Find-a-Grave the information and photos, taken 2011-2013, of our cemeteries. As of October 2013 we have posted photos of all gravestones we could find [that hadn't already been photographed]. |
Feel free to contact us at the link below. We welcome your comments and corrections. If you have a better photo of a memorial, let us know and we will delete ours.

Thank you so much for following up. The credit should be listed as Staples Funeral Home. The information came from their website.

I don't link either but sometimes I am able to put basic info such as birth and death places and parents on the page.
They had me pretty much stonewalled for awhile! That article on Maine name changes on http://www.mainegenealogy.net/ was the final primary source proof! Thanks,
Mary Lou Bailey

I do not remember who sent this bio. I just cut and pasted it. Now I try to add who gave them. I changed the DOD to mach the stone.

Thank you for posting the graves of our ancestors.
I am still looking into the family of Ann E Wheelan nee Malloy or Molloy. I believe she was born in Whitefeild Maine. The question is were her parents born also in the US or elsewhere.

I made a mistake in last message. There was not a divorce. My Great-Grandmother was a widow when she remarried to Alanson Bennett Russell in 1861
|Bennett Russell||RE: Hannah Avery|
Yes Levi R Avery did go to California for a period, but I have no idea for how long. Hannah and john have two grandchildren whom are buried out in California. Do not have much on Levi after the divorce to my Great-Grandmother.
Here are a few more updates for you.
John Avery: Place of birth, Balltown, Lincoln, Maine USA. Passed away in Whitefield, Lincoln, Maine, USA.
Hannah (Potter) Avery: Place of birth, Whitefield, Lincoln, Maine, USA. Which is the same place where passed away. Also that is where they were married.

I did find another memorial, #53254675, and I am just guessing this could be possible to be the husband of Hannak Avery. My reason in saying that, is the headstones are identical in style, the date he passed away and and the state of Maine.
Am hoping you can help me out with this. Thank you.

This could be the mother-in-law to my great-great Grandmother. The dates match and her husband was John Avery. Her and her husband both passed away in Maine. So by chance do you have any other information on this memorial? Was one of their children named Levi R Avery? For levi R Avery was my Great Grandmother's husband
