If William's grave was next to Augusta I would have photographed it at that time. It's possible that he does not have a marker or is buried a further distance away. I tried to find info on him and did find a death date of January 8, 1943.

Don't know if I mentioned, I have Walter Michael and his wife who are buried in Florida (have requested link).

of the 10 children of John & Louisa, we should have John C, Charles Fred, George M, Walter Michael, and Elmer Henry linked to their parents.

I cannot find Adolph Gotlieb & his wife Emma or Frank Albert & his wife Frieda Strauss.

I also cannot find the two children that died young - Louisa Elizabeth and William Henry.

I am working on Viola who married William McLaren.

Do you have the same status?

RE: George Gerber 125666618
Hi Jo
I have also now found Charles Fred Gerber (another son of John & Louise) and his wife Rose Helwig Gerber. Have requested those link ups, too.

Not sure if I requested the birthdate for the first son - I think I might have. The contributor that has all these has been pretty ehlpful in the past - I think he'll take care of it for us.

As to the military service for George, I figured you had taken it from somewhere. I found 4 of "our" Gerbers in the "History of Buffalo" section on military service - Adolph C, Edward A, Elmer H and George M. I know you have the memorial posted for Elmer and George, right? I cannot locate Adolph's burial place and I think Edward might be from a different family - my gg-grandmother Eliza Gerber Kahler had a brother Edward - might be him - still working on that.

I'm going to have to give Jill a hard time (: for sucking me back into these Gerbers - it never ends, does it?

RE: James T. Bradbury 70765061
Thanks Jo E

I have about ten battlefield letters from James Bradbury. I can't think of a nicer person. He loved his family and friends, and he saw things, and described things from the battlefields that no person should ever have to see. Losing him must have been devastating to his family. He is a true American hero. My ancestor was a Captain of the 6th Maine, Bradbury's Regiment, so he's very special to me. I'm glad you enjoy reading and learning about people as do I.
