I grew up in Lexington, MA, which may explain in part my interest in colonial history. I retired a few years ago after 20 years as a computer programmer. I generally photograph colonial cemeteries or at least the oldest sections of them. I studied early New England history in the 90s. My cousins got me interested in genealogy a few years back. I've always loved photography. |
I would like to thank everyone who has offered corrections and additions as any new information makes the memorials that much better. I always want more info.
Please, when offering corrections or additions, include the memorial number as I have created thousands.
And look at the rules set down by Find a Grave before asking for transfers.
Don't fuss about spellings. One person wants the modern version, another person wants an older versions. I can't please everyone.
I usually do all requests within 24 hours.
Feel free to use any of my photos. All I ask is that you credit me for taking them. Please email me if you're doing some for-profit thing. And do not post my photos from other websites to Find-a-Grave. Ask me to do it. Thanks!

Just wanted to thank you so much for all your hard work. Coming from Michigan in November to visit this and another cemetery with my 89 year old father-in-law to show him his first family members that came over from England, thanks to your hard work.

Asking about Sgt. Thomas Richardson's wife Mary Stimpson. First, thank you for posting the headstone photo for Sgt. Thomas Richardson. By any chance is his wife Mary beside him? If so could a photo be added to her Memorial #53716544?
Sgt. Thomas Richardson's Memorial is - Old South Burying Ground
Thanking you in advance for your response, Sandy

I created a memorial for Ethni Harding (memorial #169266854) whose info is on the bottom of his fathers stone (memorial #62654278). You added the photo of the stone to memorial #62654278 and I would like for you to add the same photo to the memorial that I created #169266854. Thank you
|Rebecca Dodds||John Pierpont|
Thanks Bill for adding the bio info for John Pierpont.
And I agree with you about these surname spellings- Pierpont/ Pierrpont/ Pierepont/ Pierpoint ...it can drive a person nuts. It should be up to all of us to search on findagrave using as many variations as you can think of (and you still won't find them all).

I was wondering if it was the old calendar that was used. You can decline those if you want. I thought there might be something to show a conversion but couldnt find anything.

|LMOughterson||Rev Benjamin Wadsworth Memorial# 50189387|
I am a descendant of Capt. Samuel Wadsworth # 52300536 (via his son, Deacon Ebenezer Wadsworth # 29125652 ), and he is also the father of Rev. Benjamin Wadsworth. I was looking at the photo you have on Benjamin's memorial, and if you added a dark long wig and a beard to my dad...they could be twins. It is funny how family resemblances are carried down over the generations.
