I have been researching my family and my husband's family since 1977. My mother starting researching our family history in 1957. I find doing family research to be quite addicting. I have just found this site and think it is a great service.

Jan Monfoort
we are related.......Jan and Kniertje Marston Monfoort are my 5th gt grandparents as is my line......from Jan and Kniertje to their son Francis[Geertje/Charity Banta] , their son Francis Jr [Maria/Polly Banta], their son David [Mary Cook], their daughter Nancy Taylor [Zack], their daughter Jennie Adams [Ancil], my dad Frank Adams and me. As a side note....Charity Banta Montfort, along with four of their children were among the first to join the Shaker religious society in Kentucky starting in Francis joined with his wife and two plus an expected baby in 1806...that baby was David. I started on this line when I was ten....1952 and just recently found the wife of the earliest known of the no matter how long you search, there is still more to find.
