(I don't do this just for me~ if I have photos that you'd like to use for your Ancestry projects please feel free to do so... and No - I don't need to get credit for the photo...)
I had been looking for my Paternal Grandmother's grave for a very long time... no one in the family could tell me where it was. Thanks to this site, and Carolyn Farnum I have found her final resting place~! Thank You for all your work!
To repay the kindness, I make an attempt to put as many photos and grave markers that I can on Find a Grave.
If I have added a grave and you would like it to be transferred to you, just let me know...
~*~ONE FINAL GIFT~*~
Scatter me not to the restless winds
Nor toss my ashes to the sea.
Remember now those years gone by
When loving gifts I gave to thee.
Remember now the happy times
The family ties are shared.
Don't leave my resting place unmarked
As though you never cared.
Deny me not one final gift
For all who came to see.
A simple lasting proof that says
I loved and you loved me.

I go each day to the Library of Congress website and read the newspapers from 100 years ago. It is a fascinating glimpse into the past. Today, I found a most interesting item - a letter written by W. Hardy Pocock to his friend and school mate, Frank Hogeboom. I'm not sure why it was printed in its entirety in the Fulton County Tribune (Wauseon, OH) on 12/22/1916, but it is very interesting. It tells all about Mr. Pocock's life and farm in Washington. I thought you might find it an interesting read. It's in the right-hand most column on the page.
