Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Hi Sandy, I just wanted to let you know that I've added tombstone pictures to the Stratton's memorials if you care to take a look. They are in rough shape due to age, but if you click on the picture, once opened, click on it again and you'll get a bigger view. Thought you'd like to know. Regards, Nadeen

Certainly. I don't normally add if another contributor has posted a photo, but I had taken a close-up of these. The stone is perfect in 2008...perhaps newly cleaned if anyone does that.

RE: Frank Griffith
According to a cemetery book created by the Mitchell Research Center and Louise Hawkes in 1983 says Griffith, Frank d. June 11, 1909 no stone dates from burial records.

There is a whole bunch of Griffiths in St. Anthony's Cemetery, which Griffiths would you like me look into...Please email me @

The local historical society in this town is called The Mitchell Research Center. I do not think they have anything that you would be able to research online...I can look into obituaries and stuff for you if you like, but you will have to give me abt a week at best because I previously signed on to find remaining stones for St. Anthony's Cemetery which there are about 3 left I do believe and I claimed majority of the ones in Lakeview Cemetery here in Hillsdale as well and there are about 22 there....

RE: Jonathan Owen Coddington #42015842
I'm cousin's several times removed with Samantha (Meeks) Coddington - Jonathan's wife. I've only recently started working this line and thought it better to share while the information was fresh on my mind, glad it could be used.

To the left of Agnes, George and Theresa's stones not even 10 steps away is another set of Griffith stones. There pictures are already on here. They were John and his wife Mary. Joseph, Harry P., Peter and Abbie Griffith...
