Bio and Links
Bio Photo Ever since I can remember, I have had a fascination with cemeteries. There was one right down the street from our school, we used to walk through it often, It was so peaceful and the monuments were so beautiful. My father Calvin Russell Swallow is buried there now. My sister Mel and I have gone back to Massachusetts and other New England States and explored the cemeteries looking for ancestors. Genealogy and searching cemeteries for family has been a treasured time with my sister. What a gift it is to have a sister to share your interests with.

I am hoping to make connections with distant cousins and share pictures and stories. I have posted many branches to our tree to do this.

I AM VERY LIBERAL WITH TRANSFERING MEMORIALS. MY PHOTOGRAPHS ARE FOR EVERYONE (COPY THEM AT YOUR PLEASURE) AND I FEEL NO SENSE OF OWNERSHIP OVER MEMORIALS THAT ARE NOT MY FAMILY. I LOVE DOCUMENTING GRAVES. I AM SOMEWHAT OFFENDED BY THOSE WHO DO NOT SHARE THAT SENSE OF GIVING. WE GET NO POINTS IN HEAVEN BY HOW MANY MEMORIALS WE CONTRIBUTED TO FINDAGRAVE. THERE ARE MANY FINE CONTRIBUTORS TO FIND A GRAVE AND A FEW THAT NEED TO GET OVER THEMSELVES. Remember...."God Loves a Cheerful Giver"!!

A POEM FROM ALL OF US AVID GENEALOGIST'S!!

DEAR ANCESTOR

Your tombstone stands among the rest; neglected and alone. The name and dates are chiseled out on polished, marble stone. It reaches out to all who care; it is to late to mourn. You did not know that I exist; you died and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you in flesh, in blood, in bone. Our blood contracts and beats a pulse not entirely on our own. Dear Ancestor, the place you filled one hundred years ago. Spreads out among the ones you left who would have loved you so.

I wonder as you lived and loved, I wonder if you knew that someday I would find this spot, and come to visit you. - Walter Butler Palmer 1906

Rachel Wetherall Benjamin #24840323
Hi Star, I was wondering if you'd be willing to transfer Rachel Benjamin (24840323) to me (#47841010). Rachel is my 4th great grandmother. I would like to link her and her husband, Daniel, to their daughter Louisa Rachel but all 3 memorial are managed by 3 different people. If you can't transfer, would it be possible to link them? Thank you kindly! Lindsay

Edgar LaFrenier & Helen Gooley LaFrenier
Edgar LaFrenier (#162262335) was the husband of Helen Gooley LaFrenier (#28252254). They were my father's parents. They were buried separately because they couldn't afford a plot and tombstone. Edgar is buried with Herbert Cowdrey, who was his son-in-law. Helen is buried with her uncle Clarence LaFrenier and her aunt Virginia (Lafortune) Roberge.

Best,
Lyn Cohen
(Who was named Helen LaFrenier, after my grandmother)

Thomas Prentice
Hi Star,
I was looking on findagrave at my ancestor Thomas Prentice (the Trooper), memorial 7104445. On the same page I see a second gravestone with no details. I have been trying to find info on where his son Thomas Prentice Jr. (160313785) is buried. Could that be Thomas Jr.'s grave?
I plan to go to Conn. and Mass. on vacation in a couple of weeks and would love to find more ancestors' locations. (Of course, I hope they are actually located with Jesus.)
Thanks for the pictures!

Robert Davis Purple Sr.
Rhodes relation ?
Hi Star,

I noticed your public message on someone who also fulfilled a photo request for me.

There are many Rhodes families but I have to ask

Are you in any way related to Eugene Manlove Rhodes, the western novelist ?

THANK YOU
hi Star, Thank you for adding the headstone pic of John Littlepage. I made that stone. It isn't very good, but he didn't have one and I didn't think it was right. There is a story behind him not having one. May I manage memorial # 17972824 and his dad James Robert Littlepage memorial #17503463. Thanks again for adding the pic.

David Shumway II
Star, you added two different cemetery photos for my 4X great-grandfather, David Shumway (one of the Massachusetts Minute Men.) Is one of them Lake Vale Cemetery in Belchertown - where is the other marker located?

Rosa Bell Harrison Whitley
Rosa Bell Harrison Whiteley was NOT a daughter of my husband's great-great-grandfather, John Harrison (1805-1861). Nor was he ever married to Emily Spangler Betts So she was not a sibling to James Harrison, Mary Harrison Holtsclaw, George Washington Harrison or my husband's great-grandfather, Edward Paxton Harrison. Someone has added these two females to our line incorrectly.

There were 3 distinctly, unrelated Harrison family lines in Hancock County in the same time period and someone has gotten confused and incorrectly added Rosa and her mother Emily to my husband's family line. So how do we get them removed from our family member memorials?
