William F Dorton Sr's wife
This is about the William F Dorton Sr. who was born in 1730 (my 5th great grandfather). Do you have any records that prove that William F Dorton Sr.'s wife was Elizabeth Watts? Some trees have his wife as Elizabeth Watts & some have Elizabeth Lewis, and some combine the two women and call his wife, Elizabeth Watts Lewis. I know that Elizabeth Watts was of Indian descent, but do you know anything else about her or have any records showing Elizabeth Watts together with William F Dorton? If so, could you share them? Thank you, S.M.S.

Sylvester Silas cilas Jackson
Buried Davis family cemetery in stinking creek, Knox co ky. The death date is incorrect. Emily Hubbard Jackson has that same death date. I am not sure when he died. About 1907. Since their last child was born about 1907. And she married William Robert Mills in 1908. He is my great grandfather, their daughter Nancy Ann is my grandmother.

Old Pictures
Sharon, I am niece of Ruby Williams Smith. When she died I ended up with her pictures, and have an envelope full of pictures of Harvey Smith and family. Saw a couple with Harvey and his grandson, a few of Harvey's brother, Roy. If you want I will send them to you. Can contact me at Terribell101@hotmail.com Terri

Daw Smith
Sharon,

If I would have come across this page sooner, it would have been apparent that you already had most of the information. I was thinking about the timing of Nancy Jackson Smith's marriage, child birth and Daw's remarriage. It's very possible that she may have died giving birth.

I was really getting hung up on America Smith. Do have any idea if she was a cousin of Daw's?

It looks I was distantly related to your husband Lee Roy. Turns out that you and I are pretty close in age (71).

Nice High School Pic!

Jim

James Gilruth and his days in Scotland
Sharon, I believe there's a connection with James, his ancestors and mine back in Scotland. Would be very interested in connecting with you to compare notes further.

Jefferson Baker
Thank you for all the great information. I am researching Margaret Baker, b. 1899, the daughter of Jefferson Baker and his first wife, Mallie. I can find her in the 1900 and 1910 Censuses, but no trace of her or Jefferson Baker in 1920. Do you know if they were just missed or if they were in some other location.

Hello Sharon
I just got a notice from ancestry.com that I had a distant DNA match to a Margaret Blevins which I had added while doing some research on my Stewart line. I was totally not expecting it to lead anywhere...and it still may not...but I thought I'd try anyway. I am looking for anything on my Stewart line. Would you by any chance have info on any of the following W

Campbell Smith
I have been working on my family tree and I went to Ashen Cem. in Knox County and found Campbell Smith's headstone along with his wife Louellen 58282309 so I was wondering how you got them in the cem. you do was it off the death cert. Their son Boone Smith and their daughter Halie Belle Smith.. I am confused with this and I am trying to figure it all out. Also with Louellen her headstone the death date if off by a couple years but I think with that there probably was a very old stone or unreadable dates and they put up a new headstone with est. dates.. Just trying to figure out how to fix them so everything will be correct. I know they are buried in the Ashen Holler Cem. because I did find the headstones and took pictures. I just don't know if at the time it was known as Smith Cem. and the name changed with the road or what.I found their other children but I don't want to have several different find a graves for the same people. Please let me know what you may find out thanks Theresa
