Bio and Links
Bio Photo Oh my, what an undertaking we have in front of us. And this undertaking is against all types of friction, the markers that are in poor state at this point, markers that don't exist, but the greatest friction that I have found is in the contributors that make up Find a Grave, a very few create this friction. If you want to see what I mean by friction, read the messages left for me, especially recently. I go out and take photos, create memorials based on those photos, I make errors for sure, and am happy to correct those errors. But then there are those that have in their "tree" a name that they think is important even though there may be nothing to confirm their information in records available.
They want to add birth/death locations, want to add suffixs to the names, etc. And most of this information addition being requested are by individuals that know nothing about the area of the memorial's location, nothing about the location of the family and yet, when I refuse to add the information, let the name calling begin.

Oh well, the memorial should speak for itself, dates may be wrong in comparison with dates found on d.c.'s or obits, but to me, we should leave the memorial, based on the marker, by name, and date. People that are truly researching can make their own decision as to accuracy of the marker. Leave the memorial to reflect what someone, in most cases, paid to have memorialized in stone.

I still say, get out of the house, leave the computer's side, find the graves that are still left to be found, help others by doing that, vs trying to make life miserable for those that are willing to do just that.

Sumter Cemetery
Hi I noticed your entry for Jane Baker and was wonder if you remember where in the cemetery the stones were located. My sister is going to Sumter in the next week and would like to visit the grave.

Annie McLeod
In St. Lukes Cemetery in Bisophville Find A Grave Memorial# 104531222...If you live close to this cemetery and are able to get back out to this hard to read stone...i suspect it could be Fanny Washington McLeod (from bible records), daughter of Benjamin Franklin McLeod and wife Flora Graham McLean McLeod. They had a daughter born 06 Sep 1867 in Lynchburg and another young child of theirs ie James is also buried in this cemetery as well. Thus wonder if Fanny became Annie and if you can read whether she is the daughter of B.F and F.G McLeod like was written on James McLeod's stone # 104531148. Are these graves near one another and near their grandfather Thomas Gordon McLeod? Thanks for letting me know assuming you're not too far away. Appreciate all the work you do. Bonnie

First of all let me commend you on all the work you do for others through Find a Grave. It is people like you that make it possible for me and others in my age and health category to visit our families gravesites. Thank You. I am striving so hard right now to try to get as much family info as I possibly can on Ancestry and Family Tree Maker for my descendants and others to know their heritage. I hope you will not mind my making copies of your photos for my family files.
Again let me say thanks and God bless you in your service to others.

Thank you so Very Much on the *new direction for my cousin Lillie's burial. I don't live there, so I wasn't sure of which Church location. I figured if I was wrong, someone would eventually direct me to the right one, and you have. :-) If you don't mind, I would like to ask that you please remove her Death Certificate from the Memorial, as I prefer that no DC's are added. I know you've posted it with the very best intentions, and we appreciate it, but I would rather see a Headstone photo or just personal photos of her, not her Death Record. That's just my "personal" preference. Thank you once again for being such a sharing Find A Grave subscriber. Blessings, Sandi :-)
