Bio Photo "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God."

This is a fun and interesting hobby for me, as well as a great way to perform a meaningful community service to others. Someday I hope to have more free time to devote to it.
In fairness to those who may have closer ties to a memorial, please read the Transfer Guidelines prior to requesting a transfer. I will make exceptions if I am doing photo requests for you. You do not need to "manage" every memorial that is part of your family tree. Remember that this site is for locating burials, not building a tree. There are other websites that are more suitable for that purpose. I will be happy to make any links and corrections. PLEASE use the SAC feature ("Edit" tab). Please do not ask me to do links to any "Burial Unknown". Do your homework, first. FIND A GRAVE ADMINISTRATORS SUPPORT THIS POLICY. Please feel free to add photos where appropriate, as you do not need to manage the memorial to add photos.

Please be kind to Photo Volunteers! We are out there in all kinds of weather in a variety of conditions to find your friend's/relative's graves. We are not after a Pulitzer Prize and sometimes even our best effort may produce a not-so-good photo. If any of my photos are not to your liking, please leave me a message and I will try to get a better one. I will not be offended.

NOTE: Due to the uncalled-for accusation by another unhappy contributor, I feel the need to make this statement: All photos that I have posted on Find a Grave ARE photos that I have taken myself, or, in the case of a few portrait photos, I received permission to use them and it is so stated in the photo's caption. Photos that I've posted of cemetery gates, signs, statues, buildings, points of interest, mausoleums, etc. that have been added to a cemetery's profile page were ALL taken by me and were given to the Admins of this site for posting if they chose to do so. Family photos are all photos that are in my possession, taken by me or immediate family members who are no longer living. I have never lifted photos from other websites so if you see photos on other websites that have been posted by me to Find a Grave, those photos were lifted from this site and used without my permission. I have only given permission to others to copy headstone photos, not any other type of photo.

Since March 2013 I have taken over management of approximately 25,000 memorials in Inglewood Park Cemetery from Chris Mills. Please continue to send suggestions for corrections using the "Edit" tab and I will get to them as soon as I can.

Thank you!!
Dear B.j.

Thank you so very, very much for making all that effort to go clear up to the cemetery on the island and taking the picture for me!! I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate it!!! I don't have anyone else who could do it for me. I wanted to see if my dads 2nd wife had purchased anything yet to put there. I don't know what is taking her so long...? So disheartening. Anyway, thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
Much appreciation!

RE: CA or AZ?
Out of curiosity, do you have any idea how many are buried at Inglewood? Find A Grave's number of over 91,000 seems like only a drop in the bucket when you drive through. Think there's over a million?

RE: CA or AZ?
I'm still adding photos for Miramar but I only have about 50 to go. I probably didn't get some near the road between Miramar and Vista. Crescent, I know I did the east side - also near Vista - probably down to where the "new" section (aka road that's been taken out) ends. When I was doing that one I wasn't sure where Crescent ended and Sunny Slope started so I may not have gotten parts of the lower part of Crescent. Sunny Slope - again the east part - adjacent to Esperanza but not the part closer to the offices. LOL - that was one of our first trips and I wasn't sure of the reception so shied away from being close to the office.

Maybe we're talking about different mausoleums. You said the old one is always locked but I've never see it locked. We're not talking about about the Mausoleum of the Golden West? That were he was . Mostly on the far right side if your looking at the front.

RE: CA or AZ?
We'll do that! Like I said, probably won't be until spring.

You can add to you list of what's done at Inglewood - or at least mostly done. I can't guarantee I got all of any of them - but I've done most of Sunny Slope, Crescent and Miramar. And on our last trip my husband did a portion of Pine Crest but I don't know how much he covered. He takes photos but he really prefers just walking through the cemeteries and enjoying the views so he's not as methodical as I am. This last trip he spent the whole time in the mausoleum so if you say it's mostly done, I may not be adding much of what he did.

then you should ask the other user to transfer the other memorial to you.

RE: CA or AZ?
Thanks for the kind words. Actually, we live in Arizona but make trips to the LA area two or three times a year (I grew up there). We always spend two or three full days taking photos because LA has so many undocumented cemeteries. In Phoenix we only have one large historic cemetery that hasn't been completely photographed plus one medium sized. We've got about 500 more photos for Inglewood and then we're done until next trip. Probably not until April or May.

Thank you so much for the photo! I will see if I can find any more info on Annie L. Verner. I do have him listed with a 1st wife named Clonie, born in Texas about 1916. I do know he married Annie in Los Angeles County on 17 May 1974.
