Bio Photo Note; I have not been able to check email or edit requests for quite some time. I should have all updated by July 30 at the latest. Please have patience - thank you.

Cemeteries are such unique places. I enjoy the beauty of sculptures, mausoleums and various items around the interred. The statuary, the iconic images, representative symbols, old rod iron fencing; it is all fascinating. From the most elaborate statue to the simply inscribed piece of wood.

There is so much mystery in a cemetery. Stories that are told and stories to wonder about and stories to find out about.

I am a 4th generation San Franciscan and have lived in Marin County for over three decades.

I enjoy taking photographs of the surroundings and capturing the beauty of the burial plot. I do my best to capture the entire tombstone in as pretty a shot as I can manage. I continually watch for seasonal changes or offerings to capture a better representation of the marker and view.

I spend a great deal of time in cemeteries; both physically and virtually. I photograph and document a select number of cemeteries in the counties of Marin, Sonoma and Mendocino as well as San Francisco and Colma.

I also enjoy researching and adding histories, especially pre-1920's. Love the old West Marin ranching history and the Mendocino logging and nautical history. I enjoy perusing old newspapers and other documents to find people lost to each other and especially connecting orphaned baby memorials to their parents.

I generally stick to the counties I am familiar with as I know the geography, area history, etc.

Please do not send me full obits. If you want to take your time and edit out certain points, please do so, per policy.

I will not post the names of living individuals per policy.

Hoping you can help
I submitted an edit for Martha C (Tharp) Sales (15890365) to connect her with her mother Amanda (Carmean) Tharp (158970391). The edit was denied because Amanda is "UNASSIGNED". I have searched the site and can't find any references to unaasigned memorials. Can you explain what this means? I manage Amanda's memorial and am hoping I haven't done something wrong. Or if I have, that it can be fixed.
