I was born and raised in Atlanta, but have lived most of my adulthood in Charlotte, North Carolina. Coincidentally I ended up right where my roots are on my father's side of the family. Genealogy is my passion and I never met a cemetery I didn't like. I'm also into historic preservation, both of buildings and the lives of people no longer with us.|
As the daughter of a general and great-granddaughter of 3 Confederate veterans, I like to note military records of veterans on their findagrave memorials.
I welcome corrections/additions, but will no longer link to a "burial unknown" person. I have found this leads to duplicates.
FAMILIES ON MY FATHER'S SIDE: Irwin, DeWeese, Blackwelder, Babcock, Taylor, Wilbon.
FAMILIES ON MY MOTHER'S SIDE: Bryan, Battle, Pope, Atkinson, Yarbrough, Chappell.

am researching the hunter family in sc.
they lived in the old store area around pageland sc.they moved to the timrod section of bethune sc
we have heard that thomas henry hunter had a brother that stayed in the marshville nc area and one that went to greenville sc
thomas henry married sallie snipes
thomas henry had a daughter,katherine, that left bethune and went to greenville sc after her husband and parents died
have no names of brothers--just that the oldest living relative remembered this story when he was young
thanks so much and have a great day

|Kristy Frazier||RE: Alice Cuthbertson Maye|
I have her original birth certificate. Her name on it is Alice Lawrence Cuthbertson, born to Arthur Vance Cuthbertson and Alice Lee Lawrence. My mother and her brothers also know this to be her name, and her sister, whom you have no record of on here, confirmed that as well. Bonnie has never been a part of her name to anyone's knowledge. Do you have a copy of the birth record that you are referencing? Thank you!

James Richard Custer -
According to his death certificate (on Family Search), his parents were Raymond Custer and Virtle Richards (who later married Thomas E Smith and lived in Michigan per 1930 and 1940 census records).
He is a distant relative of my brother-in-law.Thanks for correcting this!
Thank you taking a photo of this veteran's grave!
|Laurie LaPage||Honbarger's of North Carolina|
Hi, Susan, I found the Find A Grave memorial for a Luther Honbarger, son of John V. Honbarger,and I'm wondering if he had a brother or half brother named Harlan Vasco "Bill" Honbarger? I don't know if you are related or just created the memorial site doing your volunteer work? I am trying to find any relatives/children of Harlan...I believe my mother may have been married to him in the early 1940s before she married my father. I can find several marriage and divorce records for this Harlan V. Honbarger but none list my mother, Della. If you have any information, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, LLaPage
